hi..juz surfing ard...mind if i ask how much is reno cost? :)

eh..... not cheap =/

ID costing is way different from contractors.....

The total revamp of my flat is everything go.... Doors, windows, wadever all changed, also fixing the balcony cost me easily 6k..... (P.E endorsement 3k+ for Awning and hacking balcony wall ) -______-

Expecting total damage > 50k

Day 1 Tiling

1st Day of tiling.

As read from folks here in Reno that best to keep the tilers happy so early in the morning I bought 8 big bottles of various drink for them.

All of my tilers from Malaysia apparently cuz of their deep canto chinese accent. Pretty happy with that as I quite worried if I might get China/Bangala tilers ahaha !

Have quite a healthy discussion with Master Tiler, ID and myself on some tiling preference for toilets.

A good learning experience on how to try catch the lining of the tiles to align with shower screen and other stuffs.

Hoping to achieve the best alignment to have a clean cut look without any weird variations.

End of the day the results looks pretty ok. Progress wise not sure is fast or slow but good quite ok to me

Balcony

3656230726_a0dcfb527d.jpg

The color of tiles looks pretty good to me. I was still worried if my Lady taste on such color for i prefer something abit more greyish.

Balcony close up

3656231076_d8d7e7871e.jpg

Close up view. Tiles are dirty since have to step here n there. Lean a trick on that as we need to step in the middle and avoid stepping on the side as the tiles are still not set in. BEST is not to step at all la but if need to... better step in the middle.

Grouting still not done yet. But already knew homo tiles are not really even. The best tiler can do is to match the lines but in the middle might will have leg cutting tiles later on. Solution is either grind the tiles abit or try use grouting to smooth out the unevenness...

Kitchen Wall

3655434883_110213be67.jpg

Kitchen white wall tiles.

Have a lines horizontally to have a 3d linear effect. Overall looks pretty all right so far.

Common Toilet Wall

3655433295_8a016ee03f.jpg

Hmm hmm hmmm this is supposed to have a mix of light grey and dark grey tiles throughout the common toilet from wall to floor.

Turn out they tiled the wall light grey and planned the floor dark grey instead.

Since I will have 2 strips of Mosaic tiles running vertically down where shower set is in the middle, the mixing of 2 color tiles throughout the toilet with mosaic might be too complicated and messy.

So currently they are tiling Wall light grey and floor dark grey.... Hmmmm should have tell me earlier of the change but nvm lets see how it turn out later.

Common Toilet Wall 2

Another side of the wall.

Hmmmm duno issit too dark ?

Day 2 Tiling, Graffiti on the wall !

3659511612_a96bab7b43.jpg

Yes this is the only time we will vandalize our walls with drawings :P

3658715173_7917f8c3d9.jpg

1 Wall was not enough to draw so we drew another wall lol

Was discussing with ID, Carpenter on how the TV feature will be done.

I like it in this manner then leave it to ID solely to finalize everything.

I get to understand how they gona construct, the restrictions in reality on carpentry then the drawing in picture.

We have to wreck our brains to rectify the design, where in actual there will be a few flaws.

Even tiling layout we have to draw and see if it fits the actual dimension of the toliet :P

MBR Toilet

Front view of MBR Toilet.

The side walls are greyish wall tiles like Common toilet actually.

Common Toilet

3661949958_fde7e9d587.jpg

Walls and floors tiles are up.

A Simple greyish toilet for this 1. Should be adding 2 mosaic tiles vertically on the shower area later on.

Kitchen

3661149155_b7fcb8af52.jpg

Kitchen floor tiles are up as well.

Still grey :X

Maybe we loveed grey too much.... Coz cant use black if not too dark.... so our next option is to use greyish color. =/
