Love Nest In Woodlands (admiralty)

Recommended Posts

Hmm just met Mr Chang on Sat for a FS Audit. Have tons of stuff to change in regards to the renovation of the house. Back to the drawing board. Hope we both can get some ideas up before meeting Patrick from Ho Bee on Monday morning. :)

Opps didn't know that my wife is still log into her account. The above poster is me. :3

One thing which I'm concerned about is a couple of comments of the FS master. His suggestion is for me to place around 9potted plants in front of my door (4 with heights above eye level)

floorplan-plants.jpg

The circles in blue are the plants

Will this be considered obstructing the common corridor? Any plants that are tall and have a small base/side frame to recommend? (like bamboos?)

He charged $485 for 5 room.

He didn't really tell us to hack any wall..but luckily we decided to take down the wall in between the MBR and the first common bedroom cos he said the best position for our bed is right smack in the middle of the two rooms. The room with the biggest change is the kitchen, practically have to restructure the position of stove and sink cos he said the current positioning of the sink will cause wealth to leak out from the house :(

Yesterday was definitely a tiring day. After meeting up with Mr Chang to discuss about the house arrangement, we went to Balestier and Jalan Besar to get some ideas on lightings + toilets/kitchens accessories.

We saw quite a number of lights which we like in Balestier, from a few shops. I especially like a lamp with two cats in it, too bad I couldn't take picture! :( I want to get that lamp, but it costs $120 each and we don't know where to place it...

Then we went to Jalan Besar, where we got lost because the taxi driver don't know where is Poh Joo and I forgot to print out the map, silly me...so in the end we walked and walked until we saw one shop called Poh Joo and went inside. Not bad, quite a number of stuff quite cheap. Think for hood + hob + oven, we will be getting the Hobz brand and oven (Rinnai brand) which will cost us a whopping 1.4k altogether. Good news was the bathtub + storage heater are not as expensive as we thought..both costs less than $600.

After that we went to a few other shops and discovered there was another Poh Joo in Jalan Besar! Also managed to find Hoe Kee in New World Centre, Adamas, and a few others but Poh Joo still the cheapest among all of them haha...

Draft 4 of house plan after consulting FSM. Some major changes, but the difference isn't that much as compared to draft 1 and 3, phew.

Maybe cos we add more and more items...

But now we cutting down on a lot of items. Won't be asking him to do all the carpentry work for us after all. After we went to IKEA earlier on, we decided to get our bookcases, wardrobe and TV stand from there instead.

Some of the items we are now eyeing:

Billy Corner Combination

Expedit Shelves

And 3 of these

Will be putting in various drawers and boxes to add color as well as decorations to the shelves.

For wardrobe, we are planning to get two of this:

As for living room, planning to get the EKTORP sofa set (2 seater + 1 lounge/chaise chair). Have to get white color cos that's the "brightest" color we can find although it is going to get dirty easily. So getting another set of sofa cover in case need to wash the other one.

Two seater

Everything is going to be really white so we are planning to have a darker color carpet to put below the sofa set to create some color contrast. Also planning to get a darker beige curtain with a layer of sheer white curtain to put by the window. Any idea on where to go to have a variety of choice for curtains and carpets?

Some pictures of the house. I think it is long due liaoz haha.

(*crosses fingers and hope that the current owner wun mind us putting up pictures*)

The house is quite well maintained. If FSM never said anything about the kitchen placement and position, we would have kept the kitchen intact.
