missyoumuch 0 Report post Posted May 28, 2009 Dear all, we just bought our first house at Compassvale with the Country Style theme. It's 9 years old house as u can see in the link below: http://www.propertyguru.com.sg/listing/332...-compassvale-rd We would like to do some reno to make it better (maybe false ceiling, mural paint ...etc). Hence we would appreciate if you can give us some opinion on the best ID. We don't want to do major upgrading due to our tight budget. We want to utilize most of the current feature of the house. Please send me the ID list to my email at lamjuse@yahoo.com. We also really want to listen to your advice on our dream home. Thank you so much for our advice and help. Can save $$ Dear Angel, Thanks a lot for quick reply. Yeah, the floor is really in good condition and most of the cabinet too. Though there are signs of wear down but not so serious damage. I believe some touch up will make them look nice. I've been lurking around the forum but it seems not many people go for Country Style that we are looking for. The house is quite dark due to not many light around . Hence i would like to seek some opinion on which ID is good about Country Style design and can upgrade our place to be better under low budget . Our first appoinment is 11 June, the reno should start right after we finish our 2nd appointment.

And one thing for sure is, my wife wants the house to be brighter.... to me i feel the flooring already gives people a warm feeling(country feel also). maybe u can try to accent the place w more whites, like white cushion or white picture frames. it can make the place look brighter as well! Yes, that exactly what my wife wants. But i'm thinking to add extra stuff to make it more Country . We are thinking of using artificial bamboo to make the entrance path with water feature. Some partial false ceiling. Anyone here has experience with mural paint? (Mural Paint). We want to add some design on our walls.

missyoumuch 0 Report post Posted May 28, 2009 wa i think its fated man... i did some murals before. hehe.. wat u wan to know? wa ha....interesting....We want to know if they are costly and long lasting? Will they paint the whole house or just draw some feature on the painted house? How is their skill? We want to make our house more natural, more country style . Do they provide color selection advice/design?

Do they provide color selection advice/design? sorry missed out answering some. - lasting condition depends on paint quality, is the wall near the windows, if sun is directly onto it, the paint might fade faster. - not really worth it cos usually artist charge more on design n labour. - another option is wall decals. cheaper n u can always just peel off n change a new design. - u cannot bring it to the next house w u also. but if u really wan to try having a painted mural, go ahead! bottomline is, it makes both of u happy

The paint package is around 1.4 to 1.8k and if plus wall decal -->the total cost will be higher than if i just ask mural company to do everything in a package? This we are not sure so we are trying to search around to get opinion. But you have your point there, we may end up DIY it,haha. Thanks for your advice. @everyone, please feel free to put comment and advice for us...yr thought will be very much appreciated....we want to know what should we do to make the house more Country Style and more impressive with our little budget
