yoongf 11 Report post Posted May 21, 2009 10 small LED bulb for 1 TV console? 7 inch screen? But I thot.. TV console suppose to have a warm glow.. which LED cannot create the same atmosphere. Shouldn't it be T5 tube? So far.. SimLim Tower level 3 is still the cheapest for LED tube.

Advanced materials allow white color in high power, just recently in these few years. White = all spectrum of colors. Therefore, warm white = all spectrum of colors with slightly stronger amber. Some advanced LED, single LED can tune the color, less advanced ones use 3 LEDs on one die chip, to have RGB colors. I used to bandgap-engineered Laser diode (similar to LED but with built-in mirrors)

Oso easier to replace compare to tube as u can jus replace a certain part if it blows, unlike one whole tube. And it take lesser space too and more safer. Based on my own opinon. four13r 0 Report post Posted May 27, 2009 Do we need a 12v transformer to use those MR16 LED bulbs or we just install the bulb directly into the MR16 housing? Most likely no need because MR16 uses 12V. I actually called www.prime-light.com.sg and they sell MR16 and they said can be used directly to replace halogen. Their MR16 cost about $35 (I don't know whether this is cheap or not, anyone can recommend cheaper MR16?). The good thing of LED you won't get heat. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MR16#MR16-Compatible_LED_Lamps
