hazelzen 0 Report post Posted May 20, 2009 (edited) Hi people, would like your advice to find out if it's better to overlay or hack kitchen and toilets' wall and floor tiles...mine's a resale 5-room HDB unit of around 9 yrs... if overlaying, i would save around 1-2K...but not sure if overlaying instead of hacking the tiles would result to more costly problems in future? would overlaying last nicely? Supersimon27 2 Report post Posted May 21, 2009 I hack all the floor but overlay all the wall . Rem one of the contractor did told me before that overlaying is actually more stronger compare to hack and relay. not sure how true is it....
yokine9a 1 Report post Posted May 27, 2009 You have a 3rd choice, which is to spray a coating over existing tiles if you just don't like the tiles design. The price I gotten from jaskel, one of the forumer here is this: $1.8K is for 1 kitchen & 1 or 2 toilet floor (it a HDB promotion package offering right now). $3.1K is for 1 kitchen & 1 or 2 toilet wall. Kitchen floor only $1.5K, Kitchen wall only $2.6K, 1 Toilet floor only $900, 1 Toilet wall only $1600. Might be cheaper to overlay... you can go to his t-blog for more pic.
