born_again 0 Report post Posted May 21, 2009 new beds for the boz. They have never slept on beds before. We put the side support for No. 2 and had it removed after few weeks as the boz had no problem sleeping on the beds.

For hougang, most popular would be Holy Innocents followed by Punggol Pri. Both P1 and P2 would be in PM session and P3 onwards would be AM. I prefer AM from P1 to P6 so these 2 not my choice when I enrol my boz. U can consider putting yr girl at before n after day care.
born_again 0 Report post Posted May 22, 2009 (edited) We didnt have much reno budget so we only shortlisted units that need min. reno. Not many in the market at that time plus we only wanted specific areas so this unit was the best we could get. Sellers stayed in the unit for less than 2 years and luckily they renovated the 2 toilets. We definitely dont have the budget to reno the toilets. here's the common loo. We merely changed the WC, put in some accessories in the toilet as well as the exhaust fan. here's our MBR loo. We also changed the WC, add some accessories and also an exhaust fan. See the Ikea black box? It where I store my facial stuff and mask. Hubby also kept his shaver and shaving cream inside. born_again 0 Report post Posted May 22, 2009 This unit already 20years and the ceramic tiles were done by the 1st owners. We wanted a unit with either marble or granite flooring but no luck. We retained the flooring even though there were a few hairline cracks in 2 bedrooms and chips here and there around the house. We would definitely not hack and replace the ceramic tiles with homo tiles as I simply had enough of homo tiles. Never again would I do homo tiles for living/dining n bedrooms. Anyway, luckily we had no budget to re-do the flooring and I'm so happy to see the shine reflected from the ceramic tiles when the lights comes in. we practically clean up the 20 yr old dirty grout and make it white again. Hard work though

born_again 0 Report post Posted May 25, 2009 (edited) Hi born_again, Touch childcare is at blk 606 hougang ave 4. Wont be putting my gal in b4 or after sch care as think that is too messy as they mix with all level of pri student lor. ya, they do mix with all levels n diff schools too. We got no choice as we dont have time to coach the boz and oversee their homework so put them at after day care for the teachers there to supervise their work as well as to do assessments. My boz also learn extra spelling from other schools plus they get to socialise with others. The day care also bring them for excursions during holidays so its a good thing as they get better concessions since its organized by the child care. I've withdrew my eldest from day care this year as he has to stay back almost everyday. The toilets look good from the pics, esp the glass vanity! I agree with angel! The glass vanity looks gd and u are really super to clean the grout lines!!! Thanks to both of u. We were really worried as the plastic clip holding the glass vanity actually broke and the whole thing was very shaky. Hubby went to many hardware shops and Sim Siang Choon, and even to shops selling glass and finally managed to locate a pair of stainless steel clips of just the right size. Got the plumber to install for us. My contractor even told us that it can cost as much as $400 for that glass vanity so it'll be a pity if we had to replace it. My contractor knew we wanted to cut cost so he kept asking us again n again if we really wanted to replace the WC as the one seller bought was branded n costly but we're not comfortable to take over the WC and we had already set our eyes on the black WCs which I called it 'or kim' (black gold cos **** is gold). Hahaha.... 3 days to scrub the grout lines....really body aching all over. Buy those super firm and cheapo toothbrush from provision shops at 50cents as its much better than those we used cos its really firm. Think we bought about 6 or 8 toothbrush from the provision shop aunty. Edited May 25, 2009 by born_again
Angel81 1 Report post Posted May 25, 2009 Ooo! U guys are very heng then, to be able to find the metal clips. Yupz, agree with u. Hehe, think it'll be abit weird to retain the previous owner's WC. hehehee...

Hehe, think it'll be abit weird to retain the previous owner's WC. hehehee... yalor very heng. Most people replace the WC. Really wanted to remove the bath tub and replaced with shower screen but no budget as we would need to hack the floor n wall tiles plus re-do new water proofing. So we voted out of it. Sellers also seldom used it as they only stayed for slightly more than a year. Hope to be able to re-do the toilets in the near future.
