I feel like giving up the thoughts of engaging ho bee :D

or do you prefer a contractor who is so free got nothing to do? :D

it's worth the wait...hobee doesnt advertise, doesnt do promotions, doesnt do any exhibitions.

all his biz are from customers introducing customers.

this is HOW reliable he is.

Example:

his windows contractor broke one of my tiles while fixing the window.

I DIDNT say anything, neither did I tell patrick.

1.5 days later, the tilings all SWEE SWEE...

this is what i call RESPONSIBILITY!:furious::deal:

patrick have changed my appointment again... sad postpone to 3-4days more... wonder will be have time when it comes to realli reno.

his wife ask me to fax the floor plan to him for come up quote.

Hi, this is what I am worrying also. Patrick is all by himself, one man show. He doesnt have any other assistant except his wife who helps him to schedule all appts. My concern is whether he can finish the reno on time though I have not started mine. He took 3 weeks to email me the 1st quotation. I called to tell him to add another 3 items. He asked me to email him what are the 3 items to be added. It has been 2 weeks and yet he has not reply me for the 3 items. I wonder does he read his email.

I hv yet to start my reno. He said need to have 1st meetup. After 2 weeks of waiting, and finally my appt with him is coming soon. is next mon. By then I confirmed everything, guess he gonna take another few weeks to start the reno!! My reno is a minor one with only carpentry and wet work to be done. I wonder is it becos my reno is a small scale one comparing to others thats why he like bo chap

gd luck to you. hope you can get your quotation from him soon. and not like me took few weeks to revert.

hmm...

most contractors will consider you as a "SERIOUS" customer ONLY when you meet up with them in person.

e.g. giving quotations on the spot(in the house).

just imagine how many emails they have to entertain everyday...and most of the emails are from customers who just want to compare quotation with other contractors.

contractors are unlike IDs...IDs just want you to sign the agreement regardless of whether they saw your house or not.

for my case, i emailed them for a first quotation

after seeing their price, i arranged for a meet up to see what i missed out and what can or cannot be done

then more amendments...

ever waited three weeks for one of the amendments, end up Miki sent it to the wrong email address !! (she missed out the last word)

maybe it's best to call them direct and ask if the quotation is ready :dribble:

Hello.. I heard Ah Keong carpentry work is good. But how about tiling works? Pat has showed me a unit, but there isnt any tiling works done.. so just wanna to ask if his tiling job is good a not.

Also is Ah Keong good at designing? Our feature wall cum tv console and shoe cabinet is deep in depth and I'm thinking of how to break the 'fatness'.

Yes, he is v v busy... I need to take a day leave just to catch him at lunch hour.. (!)

hmm, i can't really comment coz a. i have not start renovation, b. i'm not doing tiling works and c. my only carpentry work is in the kitchen and i already know what i want. ah keong only gave advice on why stove should be here and not there, how best to maximise the limited space and how to arrange the drawers/doors/stove.

so you already know what you want right?

sorry just kaypo, why your shoe cabinet is deep? like that take shoe very difficult right? it's not so much the look but more of practicality

Tiling works is good - very responsible tile laying tau chew.

too bad my tiles quality is no good, lots of tiles were off alignment - as long as your tiles are below $5, expect the same.

Hobee did hundreds of houses if not thousands...they have come across ALL kinds of layout, i believe ah keong can come up with a solution.

BTW- DISCLAIMER

I am not working for hobee, I am a customer of HOBEE.

no that's definitely not normal

are you sure it's for the same item? as in material, dimensions etc

also, how about the total amt?

some IDs are known to lower the price of certain optional items but up the price of must-have items so the total is higher anyway :thumbs up:

care to share which item is that?

there is no breakdown of material used

e.g. tile price psf is how much? homo or ceramic? which brand of solid surface? what kind of material for the kitchen cabinet?

so far no one was able to offer this kind of price difference, not even LWT or prestige

am quite surprised that there's actually such a big difference

but my quotation was quite detailed, as in the quote i asked for is based on my requirements which clearly states what kind of material i want

hope the above helps

not surprise cos this happens to me too....until you scrutinised the items one by one.

only then you will find out MANY ITEMS have hidden cost, thats why so cheap.
