Are you having ceiling screening for the kitchen wall...if so must share with us the effect...maybe I also want to do, actual one ID ever recommend me to do this way saying that it will be very nice and modern but no idea how it will look like...so putting the idea on KIV...

cement screen is very raw and industrial feel ... U need to match this theme well . Not easy . At 1st i want to try but rachel super dislike the ideal . Say like her old malaysia house like that ... ha

Congrats on ure new home ! We also have an industrial design for our kitchen. we initially cement screed....but then painted over it cuz the screed made my kitchen look darker. u can easily paint the screed to a color u like...Gd luck for the rest of your reno

But our contractor still charge us the same price - $2100 (19ft including box up the pipes).

Is it reasonable?

Got some items from Mega Store at United Square yesterday

Went back to Tropical Bath and confirmed our bathroom accessories!

Later I'm going to ikea/IMM to buy mirror and basin cabinet for my MBR bathroom!

Just my truth comments...

it depends on what colours theme is your kitchen, if black and White then sure no problem and will be nice, but if you go for colourful theme like yellow, orange or red...may look abit funny.

The kitchen cabinets portion where the exposed wall existing, are you going to have just cement screen? or you are covering with tempered glass or stainless steel...my concern is that if exposed wall is left with cement screen will it be very different to maintain (Oil stain)

I don't think you should paint over it else you defeat the purpose of keeping the wall "Cemented"

It is subjective, but if you and your hubby will to like it then that will be the most important factor...
