pinkpetter 0 Report post Posted May 8, 2009 (edited) mmm played more. Today's Friday so I can do what I like without worrying about work tomorrow. hehe In both pictures there is a divider thingy. It can be made from string curtain, bead curtain, bamboo planter/divider or a simple shelf-like thing. It's to shield the dining area from the main door. This way I think it leaves a larger area in front of the bedroom doors so that it doesn't seem so cramp to get to the bedrooms.. I myself.. prefer to put the dining in the kitchen though. haha mmm also I was thinking if the half heigh shoe cabinet isn't enough you can add one full height ones behind the door near the bottom of the picture.. lalala Edited May 8, 2009 by pinkpetter

His price is also "no horse run" - hokkien. Cannot find in Singapore, JB and Batam ... lol

I'm your reader!!! Learn alot from your tblog. Enjoy your weekend! lots of things can be used as a divider... as long as it doesn't close off completely like a partition it'll be suitable. haha I just like to do this kind of thing. Hobby. I think I have to learn how to do 3D before anything else. hehe

Jamieogh 0 Report post Posted May 10, 2009 Supersimon27: Thanks Thanks!!! Yesterday went to see furniture too (Too Gan Jiong, haven't got our keys yet), intend to look at L-shape sofa, end up got persuaded by Unisprings (IMM) boss, paid deposit for a Queen sized mattress and bedframe. The "Latex" mattress is comfy and the bedframe is ok, easy to liftup for storage. $2779 with two pillows, protector, free delivery, GST wavied... Hope its a good buy. Told him delivery date within these 6 mths as we havent collect keys yet... He said "okok". Haha... pinkpetter: Smart girl! Jia You! Hope to see more and more of your design for other forumners here growler: I'm willing to wait for his availability as long as he dun retire so soon Kiwi (htb) said June then contact Uncle since our 2nd appt is 28 May. But we are going to TW in June, I think July then we are available to focus on reno things, more time chasing for Uncle Ah Soon. He is too POUPULAR! ashes02: Yeah! I just became Uncle Ah Soon's fan in FB!!! fondue_: Hehe... Just showed my Kiwi (htb) pictures of your kitchen. NICE!!!
Jamieogh 0 Report post Posted May 17, 2009 (edited) Edited my floor plan using Fireworks (software). The "island" concept of the kitchen is an idea provided by a creative ID & magazine. But he is not in our list because he quotes too high. I like the living room, but Kiwi said the TV feature wall makes the living room look smaller. He strongly disagrees... He has no comment for my another piece (below): Original floor plan (below): Last night he told me he prefers Pinkpetter's "Half Height Shoe Cabinet cum TV Console" idea. Hehee... We plan to start our renovation in end of Sep. 28 May get the keys. We are leaving for TW to watch Namie's concert in June. Kiwi has in-camp training in June. His buddy is coming back from US for few weeks too. After all these have done, ghost month is approaching. Can only wait unit the period is over, then we can start to renovate. Uncle Ah Soon is getting more and more 抢手. I told Kiwi how worry I am. He suggested we can ask uncle to view our nest and quote 1st. If we are satisfied with his quotation, we can sign him on the spot and pay deposit first. But Sep then start renovation. GOOD idea! But worry uncle will not agree this kinda "预约" method or he might forget about our deal (他可是当红炸子鸡哦!). Edited May 17, 2009 by Jamieogh
familyof4 0 Report post Posted May 17, 2009 another potential Uncle's customer Gald u are aware of uncle being busy and there shall be more effort needed to coordinate the various jobs yourself and be more hands on. Hoping to see updates on your quote from Uncle.
pinkpetter 0 Report post Posted May 17, 2009 Jamie you have plenty of time to plan.. dun worry. Actually I wanted to plan something like your first design...... But a complete feature wall might "cut" your nice spacious living room. So what you can choose to do is have a glass/frosted glass wall (which is more ex) or a squarish pillar to suspend your TV on. AND then you can put your dining just behind that space. I think Sept will be good for Uncle. You finish planning and give him a call during ghost month la. I think he will be free then. LOL
risis 0 Report post Posted May 17, 2009 i so love ur layout.its so spacious.;.especially the longish kitchen!envious!
Jamieogh 0 Report post Posted May 17, 2009 Thanks guys for your prompt replies! My new design with Pinkpetter's idea! Amend abit with my own idea (below) One of my ideal TV feature wall+TV console (found it from a forumner's blog) This L-shaped sofa looks good! But I don't like it in red. pinkpetter 0 Report post Posted May 17, 2009 haha I love your kitchen idea! you just have to measure the space properly so that you can be sure there's enough walking space to the bathroom. But it's a fantastic idea. If normally it's just the two of you you might want to consider having a extendable table instead. So normally you have a 3-seater and when you have guests you extend it. Then it wouldn't block your fridge too much I love that sofa!! No red for you? What about cream?
