Bon07 1 Report post Posted June 26, 2009 Hey Bon07, long time "no see", how's the reno so far? When is the estimated date of completion? Hope it has been smooth going and you have a more relax time? hi skyblue! so good, u still remembered me..just mentioned to my ID today about your tv console. hehe we went to choose our laminates for our carpentry and hse paint colour scheme and spent the whole day with the ID....pretty headache... reno started on 22 june....till now, the MBR toilet wall tiles are 70% up, common toilet still bare...false ceiling in MBR up and partition wall for the WIW up....still a long way i think....later in the noon going to new hse to take delivery of some of the toilet accessories.... realised also tat i have big problem with the MBR toilet shower system. we bought a damixa bath-shower mixer and damixa hand shower set...and this two will work very well together....but we are gonna have a concealed overhead rain shower and realised we have no tap for it!...the damixa bath shower mixer can only control the hand shower and the bath tap but there is no tap in the world that can control 3 things, ie, the rain shower too. so might have to install an ugly diverter underneath the damixa mixer to divert water between the hand shower and rain shower...plumbing is gonna be an headache... many other headahches too....haha..sorry to bore u.... hope u are enjoying ur new hse and having lotsa fun in it... Kartell 0 Report post Posted June 26, 2009 yup, i have this statement as well, it is on the very first page. and one of the items was Acid wash and general cleaning. so i dunnoif the "whole house cleaning" and "general cleaning" refer to the same thing. do u have "general cleaning" under one of ur items? Oh i dun have any acid wash or general cleaning...maybe that why he insisted that it was not stated. I just have the 1st statement on the cleaning whole hse.... Kartell 0 Report post Posted June 27, 2009 ah? so no acid wash? I thought this kind of thing is standard? ... haiz. Yup, i assume from the statement on the quotation is acid wash and general cleaning on our whole house but apparently, the ID insisted that no cleaning is stated on the quotation. I guess this is our fault overlooking this, anyway after much negotiation, he reluctantly asking his cleaner to clean up our hse, but no acid wash....sigh.. Bon07 1 Report post Posted June 28, 2009 Reno Diary for week 22/06/09 to 28/06/09 Finally end of the week...what a busy week me and wifey had, running around singapore for reno stuffs. First, we spent one whole afternoon snugging in cold cold Goodrich, choosing wallpapers for our MBR. Then, we spent one whole day (10am to 7pm) with ID choosing paint colours for the house and laminates for the carpentry. Next, we spent several evenings visiting, Lookz, Universal Union, Hoe Kee and Eestilo, trying to buy all our toilet stuffs; and its not even completed yet. Saturday was spent in the new house waiting for deliveries of the wash basin, WCs and misc toilet stuff. Particularly like my blink blink Damixa stuffs for the MBR. And today, we spent one afternoon in Air buying our dining table and dining lights. Wifey made a surprising choice of forgoing the ultra blink crystal dining lamp and opted for the Air black lamp shade which cost lesser, so, good for me, yayyy. In between the week, we went Robinson, Taka and Tangs on various nights to get all the misc stuffs from GSS like chinese wok, knives, bedlinen, utensils etc. And i broke a glass candleholder which cost me $55 ..****....luckily the aroma-candle still can use.... in the end, still managed to teach wifey how to play snooker (after nights of watching a TVB snooker show) on Sat night till 3 am and catch Transformer movie somewhere in between the week....phew....shag out
Kartell 0 Report post Posted July 2, 2009 You can try lamitak http://www.lamitak.com/ However, all laminates bound to have joints lines. You might want to look for kitchen specialist, my current house kitchen cabinet did not use laminates but is quite expensive (price ~ same as what renozone do for all the stuff) Thanks
ivy 0 Report post Posted July 3, 2009 if you worry about joint lines, choose those solid core ones. they are more expensive then the usual ones but it will look better, esp if you are choosing white laminate. I wanted to save on cost and choose the normal white glossy laminate, regret big time cos the joint line really stands out.

Hey Bon07, of course still can remember you mah, but pardon my "disappearance" for about a week though, haha... No, I didn't get bored over it, I guess it is good also to voice out (or just share it here), so that other forumers can help give you suggestions and ideas. So, you should blog more often on your process: for sharing, gathering ideas, and maybe solutions would come along. Hmm, my house so far so good, still quite empty as I haven't got time to move all the things over, I've moved about 90%. Main things like my Plasma TV haven't shift over, so right now I am TV-less here, haha... That said, I target to shift everything by end July latest - my "goal setting". dashingjack 0 Report post Posted July 4, 2009 had a problems with the joint issue during my reno. Was kinda irritated because when our ID show us the rendering, he didn't mention about the joints so we thought it would be nice white all the way. But when it was finished , we can see a brown line at the joint because of the material below. sigh. did some research, you can go for postform laminate also, but similarly need to top up. Else is to change the color. I have a brown table did up, which blend well with joint line.
