Convert Small Toilet At Yard Area To Storeroom?

Hi,

I have just bought a resale 2 room apartment and now looking into renovating it.

As the apartment is really small and does not come with storeroom, I am considering converting the small toilet at the yard area (laundry area beside the kitchen) into a storeroom.

I have consulted 2 IDs about this and received contradicting opinions - one say can do but the other reminded me that the toilet (even after converting into a storeroom) will be humid as the gulley is not tight sealed and there may be smell also....now i am confused....anyone has similar experience to share?
