Are those reliable? You can forget about those $9K...those will have a lot of hidden costs.....and it's similar to those that promises a lot of free gifts.. If you are not having a premium flat (and if you are not doing granite or marble flooring), a comfortable amount to be set aside for reno is about $20K to $40K, depending on what you want to do, type of materials, color of materials, and which ID you chose (branded ones are more exp definitely!). On top of that, if you are buying all furnitures and electrical appliances brand new, you have to set aside another $10K or more, depending on what you classify as a necessity, what you classify as lunxury, and the brand you chose. Some IDs which you can totally forget about signing with are:- 1) C*** Interior 2) N****W*** Interior 3) D***** Interior 4) G****W*** Furniture & Interior Design There are a lot mor euseful materials under this hyperlink:- http://www.renotalk.com/forum/index.php?showforum=9 Hope that helps. santav 0 Report post Posted May 14, 2009 hi, im new here & in the mist of soliciting quotes for my house reno. what i find most irritating are missing items in the quotations. i kinda get a feeling tht some of the items (although mentioned or definitely needed) are left out intentionally juz so to create an opportunity for the contractor to charge additional costs. Pinklady 0 Report post Posted July 9, 2009 yeah czq82, those 9k to 10k, "Standard Packages" you can so called forget about that. becos when we were hunting for IDs and contractors last time, we almost signed up, but luckily never, becos my sharp eyed hubby found out many of the items that we were supposed to do, were not in the "standard package"
