Mine's mid-range and costs me abt 7k for Kitchen, 2 Bathrooms & Service Balcony floor and wall tiles. I can pass you contact if you want. Pm me if you need
mrspiglet 2 Report post Posted April 24, 2009 hi goodman, IMO ur quote is very expensive. we did almost the same stuff, 2 toilets + kitchen overhaul + misc. Going into details: 1) hacking - shdnt cost u more than $2k for hacking and disposal. 2) 2 toilets wall+floor+waterproofing was $3k for me. My selection of tiles were priced at <$3psf. 3) Plumbing sound reason to me. But bathroom accessories is extorbitant @ $100! its usually given FOC for most IDs/contractors. 4) Polishing shd not cost u >$1k, mine was done only at $600 for living room + 3 bedrooms 5) Paint is ok, but can be lowered. Any limitation of no. of colors? 6) very tough to gauge ur carpentry work, did ur ID/contractor list down the specific length for each item?

goodman123 0 Report post Posted May 11, 2009 ya he's very busy. And at that time (two months ago) were you going to start on reno yet? he's like that... if not so urgent he will drag... HURRY HIM! don't feel pai seh to call him. we all do. Wah $17k difference leh... For after Ah Soon see my resales flat, he told me is ard that price 16K to 18K but now still awaiting for him to quote to me but me call him till is like pastering him... haiz... the reason why i need the quote from him right now is becos my resale unit is rented to a tenant and i would only get back the unit ard end of Oct 2009. Before my tenant moved in, i had asked ah soon to go and see so much to avoid inconvenience. My Fengshui master told me that the date to "dong tu" is 3th Nov 2009. Therefore from the date the tenant move out to the "dong tu" date is just 3 days away.... haiz..
pinkpetter 0 Report post Posted May 11, 2009 Try getting the quote from him in oct ba. Do you still have the list of items? He needn't go to the flat to give the quotation one. MOreover he has actually seen it. He can give you a draft quote mid-oct then on the day the tenant moves out you bring him and let him give you a final quote. But his draft quotation is usually very close unless you added or took out some items. I've learnt my lesson.. if you ask from him early he will drag but if he knows your reno is going to begin he will also quicken. He has to prioritise la. But it's really up to you... have you tried contacting Mr Yeak, the other good contractor? Heard that the price is quite competitive. Since Ah Soon can already quote you 18k then this ID who quote you 37k is obviously too much ma.
