I like the clean look actually though I admire the patterned walls some forummers have. hehe the clean look helps to coordinate the kitchen colours easier. existing ones are not white not cream not brown....annoying haa im trying to brighten up the kitchen. Ask u ah...why never bother to hack before plastering? is there a cost? doesnt ur wall become thicker?
poseidon_gal 0 Report post Posted May 6, 2009 Cement Wall.... Took me a long long time trying to convince my mum that my kitchen will be just plaster and paint over... no wall tiles... old ppl keep thinking that kitchen wall must have tiles so that easier to clean... pinkpetter 0 Report post Posted May 6, 2009 Ask u ah...why never bother to hack before plastering? is there a cost? doesnt ur wall become thicker? mm After hacking the walls will be very very rough. So need more work to cement and plaster. So hacking+cement+plaster, Uncle was going to quote me close to 1k+. But cementing without hacking, Uncle agreed to do it for me free. It was my dad who wanted to plaster, then Uncle quoted $300. So I saved a lot...
XiaoBinBin 0 Report post Posted May 6, 2009 Wow the price is an eye opener indeed! I think cement wall is easier to maintain than tiled walls.
XiaoBinBin 0 Report post Posted May 8, 2009 (edited) Xie Tu Ritual & Fengshui Audit A very tiring day indeed! With no water and electricity in house, we are stuck w/o facilities for 3 hrs. Unexpected Changes Required: - Flattening of walls that has diff depth: Two bedrooms affected. MBR will be shrunk to the colum. - Kitchen revamp: From straight line to L & Gallery Style. Reason being: Stove position has to be changed - Seal up kitchen wall - Build a partition underneath beam in the living room - No shoes inside the house: All shelved in store room - TV and dining area switch position - Change floor tiles - Curtains for MBR door (most exposed) and Study Room (door is opposite another room's door) Exceeded our very small renovation budget...haha FSM is very detailed and patient. PM me for contact =) Edited May 8, 2009 by XiaoBinBin
