Ok, I am back to share the air-con story.

After shifting in for few months, we noticed that the aircon unit in one of the bedrm leaks (aka drip water from the unit). Thank god, we didnt have our tv or carpentry below it. Being 1st-time owner and didn't know what to do, we called in the air-con specialist to check. The conclusion was, out of gas and need chemical cleaning. So they pump the gas, do chemical cleaning and uses a special vacum cleaner to suck the water drainage pipes from the aircon to clear / prevent any clog that cause the water to leak out instead of flowing to these pipes.

After around 8months, the same air-con unit leaks again. Hubby decide to try out on our own first, hence we got a water vacum cleaner to suck the water pipes. And it works, thou we didnt really managed to suck anything out. That aircon didn't drip after the suck. Phew! Hee.. you guys might want to try this out if you faced problem like that but no guarantee that it will work. :)

And recently, I found that there is actually water dripping from the trunking near my mbr toilet. We didn't really notice it until one fine day, one of my envelope dropped below that area and the ink on it actually smudge. And hubby touches the underneath of the trunking and realised its wet. Gosh.. i guess its probably due to the condensation of the pipes. The dripping is those minor kind that doesn't cause a flood. Hence, we didn't notice it at all until this.

After these experiences, I guess we probably won't conceal the trunking within any carpentry/false ceiling and not to have any things under the aircon unit to avoid further hassle.

Just to share the picture that I have taken on the recent dripping from the trunkings.

Normal looking:

how thick is ur pipe insulation? 3/8 inch?

Hi Poseidon_gal,

Sorry, I am not sure about the thickness. Probably need to wait til I change the aircon and take a look inside.

And btw, we just painted the whole house (including the trunking) around 1yr ago, the trunking look yellowish already.. and I noticed that its only on the trunking that are dirty-looking and yellowish...probably cause by the condensation also. I wonder if there are any paints that won't look so obvious if such condensation happens.

Gd tip on the conceal trunking! The aircon installer had no other choice but to run the trunking into my wardrobe, but thkfully only a small portion n near the floor. Looking at ur leakage gave me the assurance that it was right not to let them run the bulk of trunking in my wardrobe!
