Hi all,

i am currently shopping for a rainshower set but am pretty confused about the difference between Hansgrohe "Raindance" series and those conventional rainshower.

i know that Hansgrohe raindance series mixes air with water to give a "softer" splash but have anyone tried comparing the Raindance with the normal rainshower?

the Hansgrohe Raindance series price point is many times higher that those rainshower and i would like to seek some feedback from users here whether the shower experience is noticable.

It all depend on the water pressure supplying to your unit. Hansgrohe is so expensive. I just install a rainshower but still havn't try yet as my house it still under renovation.

The pressure coming out from storage tank will be greater that all...u can also use normal heater no problem (Had tried it out today for my rainshower, can't on the 3 functions together as not enough water pressure).

i think it depends on the shower system and your heater. For hansgrohe raindance, the water pressure should be at least 2 bar and water flow should be at least 9L/min to achieve the minimum shower experience. So you need to check your rainshower spec (bigger the dish, bigger the water flow and pressure) and instant heater water heater flowrate. (City gas Rinai instant gas heater is 8L/min, so maybe you cant really dance in the rain )

I was quite ignorant abt that too, but after speaking to some of the helpful shop assistants (i'm currently doing some shopping)

I was advised that it does really make a great difference. Use the storage heater for more pleasure.

whats the average price?

Ok I'm using a made in Taiwan Rainshower and using citygas heater. The pressure was great, but if I on the 3 direction functions together, it will be less powerful.

kari, you might want to post under tanglin halt thread regarding the using of citygas heater with rain shower. i've heard from some of the guys the water heater from citygas is not very consistent. i'm currently using water storage heater with my bath tub and rain shower. so far no complain.

But mine no brand cost $400. dunnoe cheap or not but I trust my supplier to a certain extent that it's not lousy stuff.

They call it 3-way. The rain shower big head and the small handshower are adjustable so can fit my height at comforatble level. There's oso another water outlet for me to put a pail underneath. Tats y it's called 3 way. hee hee

the difference with those high end rainshower (read expensive) are that it usually comes with thermoset. This little gadget is the most expensive part and i think most useful. The thermoset basically control and limits the temperature (usually have temperature setting between 34degC to 42degC) of the water so one does not need to "test" the water before stepping into the "rain". This could potentially prevent scalding and wastage of water in the long run.

I have the Hansgrohe Raindance series. You need to have higher water pressure to use this. Mine is 3bar. It mixes with air to give you more volumous water experience. The effect are more significant on the bigger heads. I think if you have water pressure of 4-5 bar, it will be best. You can go down to their showroom to have a feel of the water yourself but note theirs are higher in water pressure.
