pinkiedreamy 0 Report post Posted April 6, 2009 (edited) Hi all, after a long search, we've finally selected this unit. Now waiting faithfully for our 1st appt. Simply can't wait to start renovating our love nest =) Here's my floorplan: We are thinking of a white, clean and neat concept. And we will be doing a full overhaul as this previous owner's decor is a no-no for us. Hope to hear more suggestions... =) Edited April 20, 2009 by pinkiedreamy

pinkiedreamy 0 Report post Posted April 6, 2009 hi pinkpetter I've read through your renoblog. Showed hubby your white kitchen, and we both agreed it is nice!!! That's why we've decided to have a white concept. btw, your kitchen top is using solid top or granite? hi guy77 yah, a white concept means both hubby and I must make an effort to keep it clean. plan to do more cabinets so that all can be kept inside....looks nice outside, but inside..er...hahah hi Jupiter Home that's one of the criteria we looking for - balcony and service balcony, when hunting for our unit. but this is a 116sqm 5 room, not very big though =)
pinkiedreamy 0 Report post Posted April 6, 2009 hi fondue_ We don't really cook. Although still can make a dish or 2 for gatherings. So a big kitchen means we have to spend more money on cabinets. The rooms are not very big, so i can't have a big wardrobe =(
pinkpetter 0 Report post Posted April 6, 2009 hi pinkiedreamy>> hehe thanks. My worktop is off-white solid surface with white specks. from Bellus.
pinkiedreamy 0 Report post Posted April 7, 2009 After much discussion with hubby, we've decided to engage the same company - Classic (can't remember if this is the full name) that did our current kitchen in our 4rm 5 years back. We loved the Blum drawers, and of cos not forgetting their workmanship. cos till today, many commented my kitchen cabinets is still in very good condition. However they are on the pricey side especially this time round I've decided to add on this stainless steel rack that can be pulled out upon opening the cabinet door. As for kitchen top, we are still considering to use white solid top or black galaxy granite top. My current kitchen is using the old fashion postform top =) Just wondering which is more scratch resisitant? according to the ID, granite is better. current in the market there's Quartz top. anyone using? can feedback? ivy 0 Report post Posted April 7, 2009 if using black top, I guess granite still safer. I was also torn between the 2... and the general feedback is black solid top scratches easily and the scratch marks will be very obvious. My former kitchen also uses postform and it lasted me a good 6 years and still going strong no scratch no dent, actually I was contemplating whether to use back postform, but forummers shared that better to use granite. I am also keen to find out how is the performance of the Quartz top.

familyof4 0 Report post Posted April 7, 2009 i always love units with a service balcony nice layout!
mrspiglet 2 Report post Posted April 7, 2009 congrats! i've read somewhere in the forum that black surfaces are harder to maintain than white, as the scratches are more obvious. Granite can withstand heat better than solid surface top. I couldnt decide myself which to get either. so i let pricing made the decision, white solid surface for me

googocat 0 Report post Posted April 7, 2009 Hi Pinkiedreamy I highly recommend that you pick black galaxy (from india) for your kitchen counter top. Its more durable and scratch resistance. According to my contractor, the prices psf for black galaxy has also recently dropped. Btw, can i ask you more about your blum kitchen system. How much did you roughly pay? My new place is currently undergoing renovation and i would like to install the blum kitchen system including the metal pull-out rack for my top cabinbet.
