will the distance between the suspended console and sofa be too near?

Due to my poor sense of proportion, it looks very near in the drawing.

But based on floor plan, the distance is still relatively OK. Just that, with the console, we can't depoly a coffee table of any kind in front of the sofa to give some spatial allowance. Coffee / Low table I guess can always be shifted to the side of the sofa. I'll consult Yeak and see what he says. :)

mm I like the idea of having the passageway behind the tv... so that the people walking needn't block the ones watching..

I was thinking.. could you have something less bulky though, so as to not divide the space so much... maybe have a few pillars acting like the console? hehe I was thinking of having glass with a slim panel in the middle for mounting the tv at first. hehe

Heya Pet,

Thanks for the suggestion. Using pillars will surely help in increasing visibility and reducing the blocky-ness of a single console.

I'll check on its feasibility to be hung from the ceiling, and weight loading. :)

talking about slim mounting, I think i've seen pictures of TV mounted on stainless steel pole, probably the wires are ran in the pole. looks sleek.

Yes Ivy, I saw those in a mag once. Looks very sleek. I think its by the Hafale brand.

Most people seem to use it for the MBR to save space. But was wondering, where do they fit the console to hold the players and SCV boxes?

adrian glad to see you are back to the drawing board...when i saw the tv console in the middle, i quite like the idea as it creates a tv area...probably just a few things which i had in mind. would it be too cramp as space is taken up by the console? esp if you gonna get a big sofa....and the passageway might seem very tight coz i like big big space...the thing about putting console there is if you need bigger space for party or gathering, can't move it away but if you put the sofa there, its movable...and for my children,i prefer big space for them to run around...

another thing i thought of was when watching tv, will it be distracting that you can see people walking in the passageway?
