I sealed back my open concept kitchen firstly due to initial plan of air-conditioning the living room, and secondly becos although we dun cook often now, i dun wanna end up washing BOTH the kitchen and the living room when we do happen to cook.

occasionally may have friends coming over to do cooking experiment together also, just to play safe. Actually u can do those half glass half wall partition with glass decal on glass door?

Can go to any tile shops n take samples, then tell uncle which tiles from which shop. I took all from Sin Lek cos i prefer their selection over Hafary, but i think pinkpetter took tiles from diff shops.

Me me me.. I hear my name.. I took most of my tiles from Sin Lek. Only my foyer tiles were from Hafary. The silly Italian ones my dad insisted on having.

I went to many tile shops with my dad when we tile shopped and brought home TONS of samples. When we finalised we showed uncle the tiles as we wanted to ask him for "permission" for the Italian ones. Then we handed him the list for him to place the order.

He reminded us to keep the tile samples to match the ones delivered to our house before they tile.

whoppee!.. finally i am reduced to counting down in singular days.. cant wait for next wednesday, 13th May, to come, to collect my prized keys.. road to freedom!

anywayz.. latest update is.. i've selected my tiles from LSH, yes, they are a little pricer,, but nicer..! love their mosaics, $15 per 30x30 gosh.. bought only my lights for dining/kitchen/toilet/son's room. the rest not yet.. hope i am in time.. havnt have any other time to do the rest... coz busy with preps for kid's exam next week..

i'll update the blog as soon as i the photos up for the tiles and lights.. but but.. uncle has YET to give me the OFFICIAL quote lorx. faints...

i also paid twice i.e. 40% already! I have yet to sign and no copy of my chinese quote too...

uncle given me the quote in english. and he used his chop to stamp on it. but i have not sign and give him yet and he is still starting the reno next mon. think it is mutual understanding and trust la.

Uncle also never ask for a copy. He actually used it to add items in Chinese for those he left out and then sign on the copy again.

Uncle actually uses his Chinese quotation as a guide. He'll also scribble items, drawings, plan, etc on your floor plan. So no worries

Btw, Uncle told me he has 6 to "open house" next week. Guess yours is one of them

wow..u guys pay so much upfront already arh... cross my fingers and toes lorx... i hv so much not bought yet.. and next week start reno... eg. kitchen sink.. and stuff.. toilet stuff... tink i will only put one rain shower up..in either toilet.. else very ex...heee...

We also paid 40% liao ... 20% upon confirmation of works, another 20% after the tiles arrive. I think the next 20% will come after the tilings and bathroom/kitchen accessories installed. Uncle never really discussed the payment schedule with me ... i reckon that it would be 20, 20, 20, 20, 10, 10 like the rest.

Was thinking of getting uncle to do the reno for my resale also but wonder how to take loan from bank if no official quote?
