not yet, currently am waiting for the tiles to be settled this sunday followed by next week when ah di will move in with the new carpentry and rectify whatever he needs to.

yet 2 more weeks of enduring with boxes on the floor and cluttered house.

Aubrey, can want to find out how to resolve the cutleg feeling for the tiles. Do they just polish off the sharp edges or retile?

Heard from uncle that Ah Di is one of the better one so your carpentry should be alright.

they retile for me. cut out the affected and tile again. i asked if can polish off but they said cannot/no such thing.

after the ah mei fiasco i think uncle dare not give me another ****ty one. if its bad again, i will seriously reject. i opted for them to install on sat so i can be around to QC first hand.

I don't think uncle bought the tiles for the uneven surface and he told me that the cutleg edges can be ppolished. I don't know why he told you cannot, maybe yours is too serious.

I am also really tired of cleaning again and I will make do with polishing. Will see how it goes tonight.

It's good that you are around to oversee the rectification. But I notice the foreman was quite hostile when I talk to him about the rework.

Quite true but I do agree that it is better for uncle to give them instruction. But some contractors very scare of uncle and ask me next time can contact them direct, no need to talk to uncle.

gaku, is the polishing done tonight? if so let me know how it goes? as far as i know, polishing is just to remove the wax on the tiles but does not smooth out uneven edges. for smoothing it out, i believe they will use the tile cutter to do it, i.e how they use it to create smooth edges like what u see for fridge and WM base.

and i did not talk to uncle about this, cos in my desperation to get some attention to my place and the issues, i called elder goh. he was the one who will be co-ordinating it for me. but the first time on my HO when i told uncle about 1st round of uneven tiles, he promptly called elder goh to ask him to fix it.

if u like i can help u notify elder goh if the polishing is still no good.

fannie, you're right. but so far all the workers are okay and no complaints from me. no attitude nothing from them. :] for me its the other way round, uncle "pester" me to call them direct so the communication is limited to 2 parties and it helps reduce his workload. so far i have not seen him F anyone. either that or my hokkien understanding is way too limited.

you've never seen uncle f people ah aubrey? haha, then i must have all the luck. Cz when i'm with him there will always be at least 1 phone conversation when he's f-ing someone. it's just a matter of how hard he's f-ing. hahaha =p

But good lah, uncle never really blood boil when he's f-ing. Can see that at least he doesn't let it get to him. (at least i think so). Blood boil too much also bad for his health =p

Aubrey: Today there is no polishing because there were some damaged tiles and so tiler continue working on the rework. The rework will continue and hopefully finish by tomorrow. Uncle mentioned will polish after 101 place is completed.

I did asked about the sharp edges and he mentioned using sand paper of 24 or something like that. Anyway the missing grouting was filled and it is no longer so sharp.

Think no need to activate Mr Goh yet. If he comes most probably will give me another long lesson on FS.

mmm I've only seen him scold workers once... AND they really deserved it... cos they didn't show up for work at all... at all the houses. They said it was raining in the morning so they couldn't get out of JB then when the rain stopped, they say the traffic too heavy.... Uncle was so furious he told them that if by 12pm he never see them they better not appear ever again. *faints*

Wah, this side of uncle sounds really fierce! But I guess it is necessary considering the many different types of people he has to deal with. Very unlike his soft, caring, and always smiling fatherly image we always see him in.
