anyone applied for reno loan when signing with uncle? the bank will normally pay the contractor directly rite? but normally they will just approve the loan on the amount indicated on the quotation and not anything higher?

HI ALL! Just want to give quick and easy update!

Will you all be interested to come over to my place for a get together after my reno is done with uncle ah soon! date to be firm up, perhaps maybe early june. can you guys give an indication of when you all will be free? (hahaha a present and post meet up with the man himself, maybe u guys can chase whatever you need to! i will ask jason and try to ask elder goh to come too)

uncle will be buying things like otak and satay. my mom and i will try to cook if we can, dependent on crowd turn out. Do RSVP with my in my tblog, my PM folder will be full!

anyways, today i will come home to update as my auntie is here and tonight im bringing them out to the cai qin concert as belated surprise gift to my mom for her bday. :]

ok major updates over the time i have been MIA! with regards to the "party" i will draft up a excel spreadsheet on google. i will place the link here, you guys just indicate whats a good time then we can work out from there. im kinda just worried over seating. now that there's only me and mom, we dont have lots of dinning chairs so need to think of what to do.

jason has confirmed that my carpentry will be up by tomorrow once the painting is done tomorrow, so those who are interested to come have a look, u can do so from 26 may onwards! i am on leave from 27 - 29 may to move stuff home and to pack and clean, if you are interested to have a look, u are welcome to do so! :]

some carpentry reno blues kicking in despite being happy. kinda evens out my mood eh. i really have no idea why but the carpenters did not even help to sweep out the dirt and dust under the shelf before installing the kitchen cabinet OVER it. such common sense and still nth done. uncle was at my place earlier and he did comment about the fact that they didnt. well its all too late now. i should have taken leave for the entire week just to supervise this. and maybe i can sweep it myself. *fumes at the carpenters*

posting up the annoyances i face.

seriously i understand that the current way they run the wiring for this is cos the point on the other side (toilet) is directly there but i wished they would have moved it over to the white tiles to make it less obvious.

this really takes the cake and pissed me off like crazy. never mind that he got the switches upside down, never mind that he wired it wrongly so that it switches on the wrong lights, but cant u at least take out the **** scotch tape before u get all drilling happy and fix the switch OVER the tape? yes this is done by that same guy who told me to buy my own switches. great job. (ya im over it now)

looks quite obvious and not exactly nice but oh wells..

my concern is that the base of the light is slanted. in the event that the light spoils and i need to replace it, will it damage the ceiling?

(yes the shop i got this from sold me a low grade light that after i screw out the bulb, the metal contact point part within the base actually came off. the material used is so lousy, i could fold it into half with no strength)

the person who came to install brought the wrong glass for me. i wanted those with the wire mesh embedded not this. uncle said its easily changed and will be changed soon.

is this solid plywood? doesnt look like it to me.. feels like those compressed wooden grains/chip then finished with laminate. very ikea style.
