Retrospectrum Meets Modernisation!

Recommended Posts

asiaexcel.jpgI bought my cuzino hob and hood plus Franke sink and mixer from Desmond at Asia Excel Balestier. Contact : 62569905. I paid $699. Not sure whether the package promo still available. But you can call and check :)

It's not as good as Fujioh or Rennai (I haven't use my Cuizno yet) so it's suitable for light users like me who dun cook often. To me, it's a cheap bargain la.

Day 2 of reno - more hacking and tiles arrived

Sorry no pictures cos my house is pitch black and my wirings are in a mess! uncle promised to wrap up my lights and ceiling fan. i have been nagging at him since day 1 but no work done. i shall convey my wishes to ah heng directly. i really want them to wrap it least i have problems with stains and stuff. then it will be more work to rectify that. the maxim prevention is better than cure will be applicable here.

what i see in my dark dark house now is a pile of sand in the kitchen, my tiles have been delivered. supposed to check but i cant with no lights. have yet to tell ah soon how to stick the tiles but it is pretty straightforward, but i rather take the extra effort to ensure all is correct then to go thru more trouble to rectify later. they have yet to plaster my walls in the other rooms yet. and i found this odd hole in my kitchen wall! its not supposed to be hacked!! must ask uncle tmr. :(

apples

thanks and yes its really fast! im quite surprised at the speed. they cleared the debris for the whole house today.

your package from asia excel, is the hob and hood from rinnai? how about your oven? did u get one? sounds like a good deal. is the sink a double bowl? sorry but may i know where is asia excel?? i got the price individually as well as the package. now just need to ask uncle if he can get cheaper. if can i will leave it to him so we can save more.

Ya, you better ask them to wrap up the lights and fan. Or else there will be lots to clean.

Nope, the hood and hob are also from Franke. Yes, the sink is double bowl.

I think you can go visit Asia Excel @ Balestier to see if there are any other deals.

I also think it is easier if you buy your own .. uncle is so busy and may forget :P

sorry to all who replied, i will respond soon. dunno why been having this headache from last night till this morning. :( wasnt online last night cos went to sleep at 9+ after checking on the house.

Day 3 - plastering of walls and cementing the kitchen area + waterproofing the toilets (I think..)

the progress from yesterday seems slower. to my understanding, they need to remove the naco windows from my toilets prior to laying of tiles, so far not done yet.

uncle didnt ask me what color i want for windows and just went ahead to say bronze color. after thinking about it, i decided i dont want bronze, told him dont order as i wanted silver to match the white tiles better.

he said he will talk to me today to finalize these things as well as talk about carpentry. i am to be the last person he meets today and he says need 2 hours to go over everything with me. i hope he comes earlier.

P.s: my kitchen floor tiles are wrong! i think uncle got it mixed up or the company got it wrong. uncle sounds like he cant remember the tiles when i called him but i dont expect him to remember. will discuss this with him. i am supposed to get the same floor tiles as familyof4. :P

pictures in a little while.

regarding the windows, i am scared that the white will turn yellow! he said the other colors no stock must wait for 2 weeks and i know they cant tile without installing windows. oh no i must make them dig it out for me! if no white at least give me silver, just not bronze! even black i will accept. later gotta stress him.

rondy: ya i asked uncle if need to pay extra for white he said dont need. guess thats really lucky!!:P

Uncle needs a meticulous PA to handle all these details!

Which house, which parts, which color, all better record down, it's difficult to remember off hand like that since he's handling so many houses.

Redo, although uncle doesn't charge extra, but I think he would have to absorb the losses if it's indeed his wrong instruction.

Lose out a lot in the long run.

yah man. Uncle being is nice usual self don't charge extra if we are going for powder coated windows. He somemore will shave off some money from my initial quote cos I am installing all sliding windows and his quote is for casement windows.

Aubrey the window guy tell me won't turn yellow, even my air con contractor advise me to accept the white cos he says white is expensive and is the nicest colour among all. He says his own house use white and so far never turn yellow. He use to work for a window contractor also. He also shared that those that turned yellow are the "fake" powder coating. The real actual powder coat won't turn yellow so easily.

That's what he told me, dunno true or not also lah.
