pinkpetter 0 Report post Posted May 20, 2009 (edited) Yup.. as owners, there really is no choice that we have our datelines too ba. I had mine too and had to rush Uncle.. the only comforting thing is that we dun have young kids ard and we can have the recitifications done after... There's still a bit of time. I suggest anything to do with groutlines must be rectified before HO... cos that was the one that really made my house dirty during rectifications. Any rectifications in the toilet and kitchen wasn't that bad. You better rest well ah... so many days already... Edited May 20, 2009 by pinkpetter
blue_diamond 0 Report post Posted May 20, 2009 Thanks Wendy and Blue. I am feeling weak and wonky from the meds...but I am fine. Yah...uncle understand that internet biz is vital, he is trying to make changes. He is thinking of stopping th factory work so that he can put in more time to manage the workers and projects. He also mentioned that he had spoken to Alan regarding his quotes, I am sure his prices are still good and he hopes to help people like us with budget, but hoping to buildour dream house fulfill our dreams. He is kind by nature...just that many things were beyond his control as he has too many things to manage. Agree on that. Think his hand is quite full right now. N he did mentioned not all worker is same standard...so he has some tough time to manage it also..just hope yrs will be smooth sailing.

Reiki 0 Report post Posted May 20, 2009 The one thing we learned from our renovation blues is to have a list for outstanding works. Our renovation stretched kinda too long. Had to pay rental as we could not move in on the first agreed date. Understandable that we wanted to have a nice place, with everything up to expectation before handover. To strike a balance, and to keep a good working harmony with our ID, the only choice was for us to sit down and go through the outstanding renovation works together. We insisted for this meeting. It was during the discussion that we got to know her problems too. The meeting will set a deadline to everything. We got our ID to get a committed date, after her liaison with the contractors on the spot. Important, is to have the list - with both parties keeping a copy. Do take care, familyof4. gaku70 0 Report post Posted May 20, 2009 familyof4: Glad to see that your reno is progressing well. Think should complete earlier than me. I am quite sceptical that my reno can be completed on time. Anyway I will have to commit to the landlord if I want to rent his unit for one or two weeks. Please have a good rest since you are unwell. Take care, ok. familyof4 0 Report post Posted May 20, 2009 Gaku,my HO is mid June. So you do not want mine to be before yours. hehe...I spoke to uncle about your unit. He says he will tryhis best and finish off at least for your 3 bdrms first so that you do not have to incur additional cost.

He says he will tryhis best and finish off at least for your 3 bdrms first so that you do not have to incur additional cost. Ya must complain already, must complete before you!! Just joking with you. Talk about the HO, I really headache. Both uncle and Jason asked me if they can just finished 3 rooms and without carpentry. That would solve one problem. If we are living there and workers are also working there, my family is violently against the idea. There are also logistics problem like what happen if things are lost when we are not around. It is very inconvenient esp for ladies. I did told uncle that it is alright if we moved in and arrange one sat to fixup everything.
familyof4 0 Report post Posted May 20, 2009 i suggest they start the carpentry ASAP! the drillings, noise, dust and the people walking around is really inconvenient. I think one sat will be too short. see what they say and how fast the carpentry guy can work.

Once I get the laminate book this evening, should be able to confirm maybe tomorrow or Friday. So if one week to fab, think will be next Fri. Don't know if I should carry on to arrange mover next saturday.

familyof4 0 Report post Posted May 20, 2009 The swtiches were up! I told the electrician the other day that I will want to buy some switches on my own, but all these were DONE! But the uncle very nice, he says can always take down and replace mine. He also took the initiative to wrap up so that it won't get stained by the painting job that is supposed to be done next week.
