apples 0 Report post Posted May 12, 2009 Hi apple, hope you are feeling better today. Yes my dateline is also very tight. Before reno start, already not so smooth. Uncle forgot my tongtu date after many reminders. Has asked him to start anytime after my tongtu but must complete and handover by end May. There was also hiccup in the hacking. So guess today (8 days into the reno) will still be hacking plus screed. Same as you, if cannot handover I still need to vacate the house because the new tenant will be moving in on the 1st. Was about to ask Uncle for help to store my stuff but he told me no problem handing over by end May. Still keeping my fingers crossed while planning for contingency. When closer to your move out date and if your reno has not complete yet, perhaps you could ask if the new owner to see can extend of a week or so. Have you check if the Uncle tilers are in today to hack and retile? I believe the rectification can be completed in two, three days. Thanks, I feel a bit better today, no point making myself unhappy about things beyond my control. The new owner wanted us to move out earlier if possible leh .. so how to extend? The hacking is completed but uncle say they'll do the tiling tomorrow

Thanks Angel. My tiling was finally completed on Thursday. The kitchen now looks much better. My handover has been delayed from 9-May, 13-May, 16-May and now 21-May. My move-in date is 23-May and there are still a number of things left to rectify .. I just feel so drained after spending my day packing and on my knees cleaning the floor, during which I find some defects. Then, the electrician told us the dining lights were not working (not again???!!!). Then, we also found the kitchen sink seems to be stucked (water draining quite slowly) The laminate flooring guys supposed to come by to rectify my mbr laminate flooring but never turn up. When cleaning the kitchen cabinets, also found some parts of the joints not properly sealed with pvc On hindsight, I wonder if we have made the right decision .. especially when I can't sleep at night

Do the necessary and messy ones 1st. The rest take it slowly.
apples 0 Report post Posted May 18, 2009 Just some updates... After Jason fly my aeroplane for the whole of saturday, I finally managed to talk to him about the defect list late this morning. He managed to carpenters to get my kitchen cabinet problem fixed today! yay!! Today Ah Chong was there to redo part of my MBR laminate flooring .. he also had to remove some parts and level the cement based because it was really uneven at some parts. Hopefully it will be completed tomorrow. My kitchen sink is still 'stucked'. Jason say he will fix it himself .. but looking at how busy he is, I really wonder! Pending must do items (before Friday) 1. MBR laminate flooring 2. Kitchen Sink 3. Common Toilet PD door 4. Installation of solid surface in MBR toilet 5. Fixing the switch for the exhaust fan 6. Cleaning of MBR and Bedroom2 windows (still not completely clean no matter how hard my brother-in-law scrub, the rest are all shiny and nice) 7. Cleaning of flooring Other miscellaneous items, if they can be fixed, it will be a bonus

apples 0 Report post Posted May 18, 2009 apples, amk ivy mentioned about problems with PD door. so far any issue?I knoe u have yet to shift in, but any feedback? Hmm .. the one in my MBR toilet is ok. But the common one was a bit flimsy, I am not sure if it is a installation problem or what. The joint portion broke on Sunday, so I have requested for Jason to get it fixed. Are you doing PD doors too?

I cannot say for certain .. since I have not actually use it on a day-to-day basis. Has AMK Ivy use it for long? If yes, then can share what kind of problems? We top-up for PD doors because it does not have the bottom track for easy maintenance. Seems like there is not many choices without bottom tracks out there

blue_diamond 0 Report post Posted May 19, 2009 Hi apple, me reminded Uncle about yr handing over date.....he say shld not be a issue except the cabinet in MBR...may take abit longer cos he face prob when doing it.But he will get it done asap...hope this info help
fondue_ 1 Report post Posted May 19, 2009 so far my pd door no problem lei..but tell u something..yeak initially also don do PD door one. I am the first one who requested to do it from him! So he went to source and get contractor price for me,he told me PD door no profit, very marginary,...maybe this is one of the reason uncle give it up and don advice people to do rondy u're right, pd door should not have this problem. the problem lies mainly in the installation part, must "catch" it correctly. we done ours a few times (rectify) and now the mbr pd door is perfect, common toilet pd door is 95% nia as the closing alignment is not exactly to the door frame. it should be smooth closing between the two joining tracks to the end. if you have to jerk it forward or backward in order for the two tracks to join and your first door to slide into the second, then the problem is the installation part. best is to get PD door specialist to install.
