oneterence 0 Report post Posted March 2, 2009 Hi all, I just got a pre-own unit. The paint is still quite new therefore I would just like to touch up the paint of several walls instead of repaint the whole unit. My question is how can I buy the same color as the existing wall without asking anyone to look at the wall itself? Also, anything to take note while touching up paint? Thanks in advance
yoongf 11 Report post Posted March 3, 2009 Paint colour age pretty fast. If do spot touchup of old wall, will be obvious. If buy wrong type... luxury sheen over matt, will be even worse. Trick is to paint entire wall, or entire section, using natural edges like pillars, corners to compartmentalise it. Can remove a small spec (say 1cm X 1cm) bring to paint shop, who will then match to their colour chart and mix exact paint colour for u.
jeda 0 Report post Posted March 3, 2010 the unit that i bought is actually in move in condition; renovated by previous owner only 3 yrs ago. we were initially thinking of doing a repainting before moving in a month from taking the over the keys, but my husband said his friend mentioned that it is better to 'air' the paint from toxins for 2-3 mths before moving in. 1. how long do you guys let your new paint 'air' before moving in? 2. should i just go for DIY-touchups to reduce the 'toxins' introduced by new paints by having lesser new paint areas? btw, i have 2 young children at home. TIA.

TIA. I remember that we still live in the apartment before, during and after paint job to my rooms. The paint should be able to air dry pretty fast. If I'm not wrong, there is an odour-free paint in the market as well. Btw, if we are repainting, is there a need to scrape off the previous layers of paint? My room has piled up about 3 layers of paint since 22 yrs ago. =x Roughly how much would it cost for the manpower? TIA!!
