Smallboy 0 Report post Posted April 30, 2009 (edited) Hi ashes... how is the reno coming along? Did Uncle rectify the dresser? We face simliar encounters with Jason recently. He changed the design handle for my books cabinet without consulting us. And when it came, we were like "Did we choose this?"........ though it is nice but still I hope to have my original design. When he explained the design away, more flaws came up. Now needing some rectifications. The same for my shoe cabinet too. SIGH........... Then my 2 kitchen hanging cabinets, I ask for the aluminium frame, glass top with silver handles. He said cannot be done. So I left it. When it came with his design, I found it ugly. I called Uncle to ask him. Told him the problem. He said he will give me the aluminium frame. It can be done. SIGH........ if he said YES earlier, then no need to waste resources to change and now the 2 ugly frames got to disamantle and throw. I hate such a process. Uncle also forgot somethings he promised. Now there are some things too late to do. We left it as it is. I think he is really too overload with projects. Though he has been very kind to rectify, I just feel it is a waste of time and resources to do. Also my energy to chase......... very tired already. From Wendy For the price we're paying, there's something to give. We just have to put in more effort in project management. In my case, I call him literally everyday to chase him for things. I also do some of his things such as arranging for temporary termination of gas supply myself as Citygas need 3-4 working days in advance to arrange. If I wait for uncle, he may forget and i would not want to know the end result. Same thing with the tiles / laminates ... For those who're unsure whether hacking, etc is going to happen, you can PM me for Ah Hai's contact as he's the main man co-ordinating the application of HDB permit Doing my 2-cent worth to help whoever is in the limbo as a result of Ah Soon's overload
mrspiglet 2 Report post Posted April 30, 2009 (edited) ashes: ur bed is nice! I think ur Cellini package price is really very worthy.. if only i wasnt that particular abt the mattress they throw in. A price to pay for everything, likewise.. i think its only fair that we do our part in close monitoring with a little give n take in some situations.. in exchge for the much cheaper price tag that uncle gives as compared to other contractors. Uncle was kind enough to offer to help us get fittings at cheaper rate, offered to do coordination for citygas, but knowing how roaring gd his biz is, i think we rather do a little more to ease his load... help him to help ourselves. I believed that Pinkpetter has also highlighted this condition before she recommended all of us to uncle. anyway, i ended up coordinating Citygas myself too! Not a tough job.. just a few more phonecalls to make my life n uncle's life a little better. Edited April 30, 2009 by mrspiglet
familyof4 0 Report post Posted April 30, 2009 I also have the hacking of the wall issue. I wonder when my recess wall will be hacked. Uncle told me on Monday by Wednesday and today is already Thursday... I told him I need to be updated on the progress...as every little things i will go up and have a look, minimising errors and resources...though tiring, it's better than some errors that is not so easily rectified and we gotta live with it in the end...
