hey there shogen,

i may be a newbie at this but i will only sign on the dotted line once they are able to give me a final quote where both myself and the contractor is happy, i have viewed some of the flats where he has done before and also to give me at least 1 3d drawing of the proposed look.

i wont want to accept anything lesser than that from an ID cos that is his job. i will not xpect so much out of a contractor given that he does not have formal education/training in ID.

i believe that if they want me to sign before 3d drawings etc etc, i wont buy that. how can i sign if you cant even give me a simple 3d drawing? doesnt even have to be 3d just a drawing will do. imagine how things will be like if you indeed did sign? i would expect him to not deliver other things as well.

reno is not some $50 purchase and to some, it is their living savings. i believe we reserve our right to at least be fussy over these things. shld your ID or contractor disagree, i think you shld drop them.

aubrey I totally agree with you. Which is why I think it's important to get someone who is willing to rectify things until you're happy.

shogen I think it's important to talk to the person and have a feel of whether you think you can communicate with this person. if there is poor communication then there's really no point.

well this current ID not only try to rush thru all the quotation, all the while is we who is trying to contact him instead the other way.

one time we told him to arrange one of the weekends to view his current project..there is no respond from him till saturday evening & its when my fiancee initiate to call him then onli he told us to meet up the next day morning ...

we were so pissed..as we also have plans on weekends too. & becos of him we cancelled our activitives.

Easier method is to just write the review for everyone to see, hurt his business only.

I collected all these images purely reference, you can probably get your contractor to find or produce similar designs.

I still have many mosaic tiles that you guys might like, I will try to put it up tonight.

Hi Aubrey and Shogen,

I have been sourcing form ID and Contractor since last month, received 6 quotes range from 5k to 18k for the same kind of work to be done. Amazing right, the gap is huge. So, better review carefully the kind of material and price that different ID firm will give. I have decided my ID cause he gave me a very reasonable price for the same kind of work other ID firm would gave. For example, a set of tempered shower screen I am getting now is $330 while the other ID firm gave me a quotation of $720.

Do tell them your budget and they will give you the best quote. Because I tell them my budget is very small and I know it could somehow difficult to meet, they will still do their very best to meet it. Although it is a bit out of my original budget, but I think it worth it. If your want to know my ID contact, please PM me.

shogen, my advice is to dump him too. why do you chase him? just makes me feel like he is not sincere in doing business with you AT ALL. that is the frustration i face from some contractors but hey, im the one with the cash and choice. so i dumped those that did not deliver.

dont let yourself accept something that you dont deserve. its just wrong. and i can just picture how things will be when he takes on your business. promise u 1 month HO but drag for maybe 2 months? tskk.

Sure, of course I won mind. It is Ideal Design Studio. All of their designer received good comment in this forum. PM you my ID number liao. I told them my reno is small and they won mind at all. My ID even tell me watt to do to save cost. We will finalise everything this week.

Wish you can get a good quote too. Just tell them your budget and your requirement and they will meet it.
