I suggest you go for a 2nd (or even 3rd) contractor to give you another quote to do comparison - is free and no obligation.

I see that your contractor quote you laminate flooring.

Both laminate Flooring and solid wood flooring have their pros and cons but usually if you do not mind paying more, solid wood is the preference to compressed wood. Beside solid wood flooring allow you to do refurbishment (restoration by grinding the surface), which can be seen as a better long term investment.

If you are considering wood (e.g. parquet) flooring for your house, I can provide recommendation which you can save some money by working directly with the wood flooring specialist (reduce middle man markup).

It is top and bottom? If yes, then 10ft top, 10ft bottom, u got a very small kitchen. If no, then the cost will come in later. Now all cabinet come with ABS trimming already.

I think it the contractor missed out somethings and when u engaged him to do, he will surely add in things that u need and u have no choice.

U can try some more contractors quotation first.

I have a good carpentry to intro. My HDB hse carpentry were done up very nice and good workmanship. Somemore got after sale service.

She was a very nice young lady who helped me to design and give advise (that y I didn't need to engage any ID(save cost)). Moreover will add things in for FOC as she just want the design to look even nicer.

Presently, engaged her to do my condo.

You should get three quotes and compare don't hire the cheapest contractor. just compare and make sure that all contractor are pricing you specificly for the same projects.
