HDB also conducts a ½-day Public Seminar on resale procedures every month. You may register for the seminar at a fee of $25 per person. It is not a requirement by HDB that resale transactions must be facilitated by housing agents.All resale flat sellers are required to go through the "Resale Checklist for Sellers" (for DIY Sellers) or "Resale Checklist for Housing Agents engaged by Sellers". After the Resale Checklist is completed, it must be deposited in HDB's Resale Checklist Repository by the next day.If the sellers plan to buy another flat, they would also have to attach softcopies of the “Estimated Sale Proceeds Statement” for their current flat and “Financial Plan” for the next flat purchase together with the Resale Checklist. HDB does not stipulate nor regulate the commission charged by housing agents. The commission rate may vary depending on the level of service and your needs as a consumer.If you decide to engage the services of a housing agent, ensure that you confirm on the following matters:Check whether the housing agent that you are engaging is registered with the Council for Estate Agencies (CEA). You can read more about housing agencies and agents from CEA website.Have you discussed and mutually agreed on the terms of service, commission payable, period of representation, exclusivity (if agreed upon) and any other terms such as payment of valuation, advertising etc?
