Our Lovenest~ (y & L)

Recommended Posts

Anyway..i've contacted this cindy Ng, she's a curtain maker recommended by some of the forumers here.

She quoted me $1200 after some discount for curtains for the whole unit.

2 bedroom - half length day and night curtains, Master bedroom and Living room full height day and night curtain from wall to wall. Price also include double tracking for the curtains.

Cheap or not? She brought along her fabrics and we had selected and since confirmed her services with 30% deposit. Will post pics of the curtains once they are ready. The fabrics that i've selected are from England according to her.

Oh...and currently she's operating from home with 3 workers..so i think she can afford to charge her customers lower rates.

Will update whether she's good. :notti:

yup yup...hope i'll have pics of the reno in process to show to you all. :)

Oh wow, that's really cheap for the curtains. i think outside even the cheapest will at least quote you $1.6k to $1.8k leh. Day and night curtains already not cheap, including the materials. i think u got yourself a bargain

Btw...my dad had mentioned that the whole reno including electrical works, carpentry(MBR and kitchen cabinets), replace windows and install of window grilles will cost us around $20K plus.

We are not replacing the living/kitchen/bedrooms flooring.

WAH so fast the MBR toilet walls done? mm 20k still seems ok... but it's a little over budget for guys? (seeing from your signature)

yah...over our budget...but no choice.. becos we can't seal up the mbr entrance and create another door entrance from the storeroom wall..we had to construct a built-in wardrobe to block the mbr entrance.

and for kitchen cabinet alone it's already $7K plus.

No wonder will need 7k... :) If it's just going to be the two of you.. you can consider not doing the top cabinets? can save some money. :)

very True...but hub still prefer to have the upper cabinets.

anyway...just now we went to lights arcade at 321 balestier rd, to get all the lights for the flat.

1) 2 lights, one for common toilet and one for master bedroom toilet, 1 light for storeroom (same design)

2) 1 MBR ceiling light (glass) and 1 hanging light with crystal for MBR entrance

3) 1 ceiling fan for living room -54" crestar without light in silver

4) 2 ceiling lights for living room (glass) with night light (same design)

5) 2 kitchen ceiling lights (same design)

6) 1 hanging light (round) for above dinning table

7) 2 ceiling lights for bedroom 2 and 3. (same design)

All the above for $975nett after discount with energy savings bulbs/tubes. no gst and delivery charge.

Before Lights arcade, we went to Hoe kee to buy Cooker hob (fujitoh $370 - toughened glass) and 2 water spray gun ($50) for toilet. Didn't know my dad bought the pull out metal trays until i called him. Luckily can exchange for other stuff.already paid $170 for it. no gst and delivery charge also.

no pics taken of our purchases cos we are somehow in a rush....can only take pics after installation of the items.
