Dr.Evil 0 Report post Posted January 20, 2009 Dear Mr Chong Please take a look at my floor plan. if you notice, my kitchen layout is abit odd. My water pipe and drainage is on 1 side and my gas pipe is on another side. my uncle has said that is a taboo to have a cabinet on 1 side with the hob and hood, another 1 for the washing basin. according to him, it mean husband and wife will divorce. Worst is that such design will have opposing fire and water element. Are u able to share with me what i can do??

Mr Chong 0 Report post Posted January 23, 2009 Hello Just conceal the pipes will do. If your stove faces the water basin, then shift one away.
Dr.Evil 0 Report post Posted January 28, 2009 Hello Just conceal the pipes will do. If your stove faces the water basin, then shift one away. Hi Mr Chong.....thank for the advice. so in ur opinion...it is okay to have a seperated kitchen cabinet for cooking and washing area?
Diavonex 0 Report post Posted January 29, 2009 (edited) You don't want the sink to be directly opposit the stove i.e. fire clashing with water. You also don't want the sink to be next to the stove. They should be at least one to two feet apart. Edited January 30, 2009 by Diavonex
Mr Chong 0 Report post Posted January 31, 2009 Hi Mr Chong.....thank for the advice. so in ur opinion...it is okay to have a seperated kitchen cabinet for cooking and washing area? Hello If you're talking about gas pipes and drainage, concealment should do the job. On the other hand, with the gas stove and the wash basin facing each other won't be appropriate. You probably have to realign (It actually depends on your FS environment). There are much discussions on this topic previously. Some of your questions can be found in those posts. Not to worry too much about this. If it bothers you, just reno it. Looking at your design, should be an apt block and that goes the same for every floor and other blocks. One cannot simply just jump to such conclusion quickly without consideration into other conditional factors, otherwise your whole neighborhood will bring the divorce rate up in Singapore.
