jesperbg 0 Report post Posted January 22, 2009 Hi, welcome. your house is indeed very big. is it on a high floor? how much COV u paid? the wall colours are very daring and bright indeed, by e previous owner sigh we bought it during the peak at abt 26k COV...initially we tot of doing miminal reno (keep the painting, flooring, etc) so tat explains partly for the high COV as well but when we inspect the hse closer, we decided to paint the whole house and redo the flooring for whole house (except kitchen) as there are visible scratches on the existing laminated flooring... poseidon_gal, can share how much did you buy your unit for? can PM me if you dont want post it here... applefreak 1 Report post Posted January 22, 2009 spam chop your unit has got a pretty colourful ex-owner the COV is pretty worth it considering the upcoming mega mall
zeegi 0 Report post Posted January 22, 2009 ya i agree 26k COV is considered not that high for Serangoon area unless it's serangoon north then COV is much lower... Better inspect your home properly... i didn't realise all the tapes and toilet bowls were badly leaking until i got the keys! Luckily i already plan to change these things else it become unexpected costs! I did keep the existing windows and iafter many trips to the house then I realise it's really in a lousy condition... the rubber at the side of the windows are worn out and some are dropping out, dirty and hinges not working well... sigh maybe next time got more $$ then change

jesperbg 0 Report post Posted February 5, 2009 Yes! We finally signed up with a contractor today! Will start the hecking & stuff on tues. Will reserve our comments for my contractor after the reno and hope that all things will go smoothly. Hopefully got time to go over to take some photos Btw, just wondering, do we need to inform our neighbours before all the hecking and knocking starts?? Hopefully got time to go over to take some photos Btw, just wondering, do we need to inform our neighbours before all the hecking and knocking starts?? Technically contractor is suppose to inform. But I did also. I bought some chocolates and gave to my neighbours (upstairs, nextdoor and below) 2 days before the hacking started. No one likes to put up with the noise and dust and I always believe in starting right. Then when I moved in they were all very nice and even gave us some free goodies for CNY. My immediate neighbour apparently sells chicken rice (quite famous one) and promised to bring some for us soon. Always pays to be neighbourly.
