mummybee 0 Report post Posted November 23, 2009 hey jaskel, nope... dun think so... problem is, we think it was caused by the chemical washing; but cos we have already moved in, and didn't check the stuff closely b4 that, it will be hard to get compensation fm the ID even if we approach him about it. anyway he is a major source of anger and disappointment to us I have the same feeling that the rust spots in my sink were caused by the chemical wash as well. noobhouse 1 Report post Posted February 3, 2010 er so can i conclude poh joo has cheaper prices but poorer quality goods ??? cause i was thinking of going down to see see look look this wkend leh.
noobhouse 1 Report post Posted February 6, 2010 1. for those who buy kitchen accessories, at Poh Joo we were told for kitchen sinks any type of tap would fit into e hole where e tap portion is supposed to be. this is for s'pore taps lah, what about malaysia taps? saw some taps in johor last wk & they look slimmer at e base, so would it still fit in e sink in s'pore? 2. from research ppl were commenting Poh Joo had e cheapest price range but from what we saw, it dun seem to be e case, we went to e bigger outlet to see (later passed e smaller one while searching for another shop.) e.g. flat clothes hook -6 sells for $35 w GST in Poh Joo but sells for $28 at poh s*** , exact same model ! so it's kinda weird. 3. then couple doors away at GR link, was told stainless steel is actually those matt looking type & those shiny shiny type we normally see is brass which will give blackish spots but at e previous shop, we were told accessories made of zinc is e type that will turn blackish & brass or stainless steel will not. e sales guy even show me how to tell the difference between e zinc & brass. - Is what he said true??? 4. spotted granite sinks in some of e shops, sales commented it's good to see only but not as good as e normal stainless steel sink. any comments on this? 5. spotted Hoe Kee by accident while having dinner @ jalan besar hawker centre. went in see see look look, range is quite great, but sales staff were only lukewarm friendly (maybe it's close to closing time) & they dun have catalogue. so who bought from them??? can share yr exp pls ??? thanks. (i read in e forum here that their service attitude is lousy but product range is ok & price range is towards medium to high end?
boatgal 0 Report post Posted April 12, 2010 I made a trip to these places over the weekend and checked out some of the shops which were mentioned here. 1) ROYAL FANCO- was sorely dissapointed when I visited the shop due to the lack of variety. The items were not well-displayed and very cram. 2) Poh Joo- Nice variety and the quality of the goods appear to be of higher standard. The price was also decent. It is not the cheapest, but would be what I deem as most value for money. 3) Hoe Kee (at Paya Lebar) - Service leaves much to be desired. The variety is not bad though. The more items you get, the cheaper he quote.
