zonkkie 0 Report post Posted January 12, 2009 (edited) Wah... Looking good! Will this be the confirmed colour scheme? hehe, 1st draft only la... colour scheme will be light - mid tones since we dont like dark woods.... also probably not putting tv in living room anymore since we do not want to break up the space in the living room. also have not taken into account practicalities... zonkkie 0 Report post Posted March 3, 2009 After a long and agonizing wait... we are getting close to the important dates. 1) Second Appt - 12 March 2) Renovation Start - 16 March In terms of ID, after shopping around 5 IDs, we went back to a relative who is an ID. Initially had some concerns because: 1) Relative - cannot , later anything mess up... how? 2) Relative - cannot squeeze, will we be getting good deal. 3) His customers are mainly expats... so maybe a bit high end. 4) Work is done by a contractor who always works with him. But it means contractor margin + id margin. So cost might be high. But then... after reading the renotalk horror stories, we went ahead with him despite not being the cheapest (even after 自己人discount). At the end of it, don't think he will cut corners or do a poor job. Anyway, told him we will throw a house warming for relatives once completed.... put some pressure on him to do a quality job. Was in the same shoes as u! After searching for LOTS of IDs/contractor, we were left last 2 choices: relative or one of the contractors (due to price factor). Had the same considerations as well, wat if not done up to satisfaction.. how? i cannot complain becos he may say "i give 自己人pricing already, why am i still so fussy?" Getting keys real soon, start hunting for accessories and fittings now!
