Butoot 0 Report post Posted December 25, 2008 Hi I would like to engage professionals to polish up my very dull marble floor (hardly two years old). Called up a local company which quotes $1.70 psf. They will grind the marble, then come back in 7 days to do the waterproofing and polishing. I was assured that my marble would be brand new after the whole treatment. I am not so sure though and would like to seek your advice and views, especially if you have had your marble floor ground and polished before. Thank you so much. yoongf 11 Report post Posted December 25, 2008 If the marble got dull because of lifestyle for 2 yrs, then.. even after polish will also become dull at the same rate. I find that more expensive marble .. due to their hardness.. retains shine better than cheaper marble. Compressed marble is hopeuless at retaining shine except for really light use. I have given up the idea of a shiny marble floor. If I am going to redo the floor for the shiny look, I will go for homogeous tile. Look at shops that recently reno... most are using homo tiles already. Vivo main lobbies are using compressed marble.. look at the chemical stains and dullness. Shangri la + Grand Park Plaza.. high quality marble look so nice!
