Dream Home @ Clementi

Fannie, I didn't check the corner blum unit.

Ivy, sorry... dont know where my tiles sheet went. It is from Sin Lek. But very common.... smooth, glossy white tiles. YOu just call up LSH or Sin Lek. 30x60 tile.

Thanks Pet....... that is a little breakfast table, baking area for my kids and I to play. They love playing with flour, dough. Also a place for serving food when I have guest over. That's my most most fav corner of the entire house. hee..hee.. :)

From Wendy

Hey Wendy... that's a fantastic design. And how you separated your kitchen is really good.

Just to ask.. what is your counter top material and do you know the brand? I didn't know that Uncle can make it over the side like that...

Thanks Pet...... I designed and planned it around my needs and work flow. So happy with how it has turned out.

The original kitchen is a long one... but I needed a separation bet wet and dry kitchen. actually the wet is for my mom... she is old school cooking fan... BIG fire.. Zhi-char style. I usually faint among the smoke.

For me, i am 'ang-mo' cooking... pasta, bake chickenm baked fish..... using Oven type of cooking. She always shakes her head when her daughter turned out so Ang Mo in cooking wise. So, technically dry kitchen is for me.

hee..hee... the surface top is Corian.........I saw in a Home and Decor mag that counter top material can be 'folded' or moulded to wrap around the side of the cabinet. Esp for half island top like that. I thought that was a nice visual effect.. the grey flowing into the floor. I showed the picture from Home and Decor to Jason and he said can be done! Hooray for jason!

Ahhh now I see. Your surface top is of better quality so that it can fold so nicely! Just one last question.. is it plain grey? or with specks?

A well planned kitchen is one of the most important parts of the house... to keep the entire house beautiful and clean... So happy that you guys did it! :)

Ya.. i also realised 1 forgot to buy toiletries basket.. the stainless steel type. Feel like going down to Jalan Besar.. my fav shop. Royal Franco. Henry's stuff are reasonable.

Pet, I realised when working with Uncle.... pictures speaks a thousand words. It helps that someone passed me 1 year of Home and Decor. For every design, I always show Uncle or Jason the pictures "Uncle, can do this".... next question "How much to add?".... :)

Oh.. yes.. it is Grey with some specks....

Aubrey, nice meeting you and your mom. Your mom is so friendly and chatty..... :)

XBB, this is my sauce pull out. Near the stove.

I order this from the carpentry guy. I specifically told him i need a pull out that can hold a 13-14 inch bottle of sauce. I went to measure my mom huge collection of Zi-char style chinese cooking wine, soya sauce bottles.... hee..hee.. just want to be sure. This one can fit nicely. see the clearance of height for that small bottle. Good height.

The top part can hold small containers of sugar, salt and corn flour.

XBB, more pictures of the L-shaped areas. There are a total of 3 L-shaped areas.

1) near sink/stove

2) near oven

3) near half island counter top

1) I dont think there is anything I want to do for this L shaped cos it is hard to fit in a swivel corner unit becos of the sink. And the depth of this L shaped is not too deep. I plan to put in my washing detergent, box of washing powders. And it will be just nice

2) This is the part where there are 2 L-shaped areas

2009_0511kitchen0027.jpg

Close up shot of 2) :

this is the one with space 'wasted' but I dont mind at all cos I intend to put in my mom's antiques stuff. Things we just move from 1 house to another and NEVER use. hahaha... so this space is not really wasted... I can at least stuff antique items. :)

2009_0511kitchen0024.jpg

Close up shot of 3)

This one you realised there is no corner space. hee..hee... I plan that corner space to be accessible via the other side of the counter top.

2009_0511kitchen0023.jpg

Open up from the other side and I still have that corner space.

2009_0511kitchen0025.jpg

As for why I didn't install corner swivel units, simple....... I want that column of 3 blum drawers. And I find corner swivel units take up a long length (at least 90cm) .......

I will come back with pictures of where i plan to place my utensils, my cooking wares, my plates... my baking stuff... my tupperware collection etc.

Space planning, right?
