Smallboy 0 Report post Posted April 16, 2009 (edited) From Wendy: Apples, sorry if I have missed your name.......... you are welcome to come and look see look see too!!! Join in the party next Sat! For BLUM lovers, I finally saw the sample today. Compare orange to orange same size(ie BLUM to IKEA)..... here's my verdict: IKEA - 80cm wide Rationell deep drawer Cost $109 (inclusive of $10 for damper which is soft closing) http://www.ikea.com.sg/catalog/product_dis...645450-77373247 BLUM - 80cm Cost $96.30 (Tandembox pull out drawers) http://www.blum.com/sg/en/01/30/10/index.php So, you know which one is the WINNER???? BLUM.... Must shoot those IDs for 'mis-leading' me......... tell me cost $300 per drawer..... XIAO Edited April 16, 2009 by Smallboy
Smallboy 0 Report post Posted April 16, 2009 (edited) More updates: WC, Sinks, heater, bathroom accessories: Finally bought all from ROYAL FANCO........... This guy Henry is very nice and patient. Took time to explain everything to us. We are SOLD. Actually we were ready to buy from Chuan Heng or Poh Joo........ also very reasonable prices...... but they are BIG players so they cant give more discounts. Wheras Royal FANCO is small and Henry being the boss can move prices if you buy everything from him. All in all, ROYAL FANCO won us over - prices (items same as Chuan Heng, Royal Fanco was $200 cheaper)..... and service was good! His shop may be small, and many items not displayed. Henry will bring out 1 by 1 and show you till you find something you like. Lightings: EXTREME lightings Well, the only thing we buy from them is we found the dining lights we want and at the price we want. So end up buy everything from him. Though we bought from Extreme, we also went to Edison lighting........ also very patient and knowledgable. If not for the dining lights, we would have bought from Edison which ranks high up for service. Now, looking for OVEN? any good recommendations. Actually I was set on Ariston but after reading somewhere in this forum that it trips, I am a bit scared! My counsin said her Ariston lasts her for 10 years, running so well. And she is a baking fan.... bakes every week....... and the oven still haven't die! Edited April 16, 2009 by Smallboy

For ariston, the basic entry levels are cheaper. But if you want self-cleaning, two-three layer glass ovens etc, then it is 800+ There are other brands like rinnai, hobz, cuzino .. i think it is cheaper if you buy as a package with the hood and hob? Reiki 0 Report post Posted April 16, 2009 Hi Smallboy, Just to share -- after the carpenters fixed the drawers, make sure you test them [open/close again and again] just to make sure the mechanism is working well. I was told that tandembox works well with heavy weights.
Smallboy 0 Report post Posted April 16, 2009 Hi Smallboy, Just to share -- after the carpenters fixed the drawers, make sure you test them [open/close again and again] just to make sure the mechanism is working well. I was told that tandembox works well with heavy weights. thanks.... yep... my intention is to put all my heavy pots and pans in those drawers..... how's your working? YOu like it? Did you buy the divider for inside the drawer?
Reiki 0 Report post Posted April 17, 2009 how's your working? YOu like it? Did you buy the divider for inside the drawer? Blum works well for people who tend to 'bang' closing drawers/cabinet doors. Hehe, it actually can 're-program' a person to be gentle. So far, all the blum mechanism in the house is working well. As my kitchen wardrobe is not a full Blum system [we only get the mechanism], we had to 'test' all the drawers after our joiners fixed them. There was one drawer that didn't work and the mechanism got to be replaced. No, we didnt get the dividers. Personally, I think it is just waste of money. Kinda ironical, to me it restricts storage planning and it can look rather cluttered. I am sure you and your wife will enjoy the system
Smallboy 0 Report post Posted April 17, 2009 (edited) From Wendy (smallboy's wife): Things are moving fast......... all false ceiling/L-box done......... sink, wc, heater, taps installed....... though some are in wrong position... :( .... expected that cos I kept telling Jason already....... even wrote on the box (which tap for which toilet).... small problem.... can be changed. glass panels in kitchen measured... doing tracks now. Jason said wardrobe for other 2 rooms coming in on Monday..... :) See, after 1 meeting with Uncle Soon yesterday.... things are "MOVE IT, MOVE IT"......... (tune of Madagascar cartoon). Will post pics after next sat 'party'....... so Ivy, PreciousJam, familyof4, Apples & Poseidon, Ashes will see it first.... anyone else coming? PM me ok...... will give you the address.
