ahwee 0 Report post Posted December 30, 2008 (edited) Finally renovation started on 26dec08. Nothing much done on that day, only took down some lightings, starting from dining hall lights, as directed by my FSM. All lightings have to be changed. Went down on 29dec08 for a look. Joven storage heater was delivered and lying in living hall waiting to be installed when time comes. All the light switches been changed to big button types. The long settee in my bedroom has been dismantled. The area will be re-constructed into a wardrobe. The false wall and cornice for the wardrobe's in place. According to my contractor, painting work will start on 30 dec 08. Will update more pics when i go down recce again. ahwee 0 Report post Posted January 5, 2009 (edited) Finally, after days of frantic driving up and down, sungei kadut, ikea tampines, defu industrial estates, managed to get it from Toa Payoh Courts. Actually saw one piece at Lorenzo at IFC liked it very much but was told stocks come in only on March 09. Not even display set is available . Lucky thing decided to drop by Toa Payoh for a look and found what my wife and myself both liked. Dining table + 4 chairs + one long bench. Also purchased a pack of string curtain from AMK curtain shop for living room window. Tomorrow the lightings will be delivered. Things are picking up speed now. zonkkie 0 Report post Posted January 6, 2009 hi ahwee, actually if u want 2 do reno(eg. hacking of walls, erecting new ones) & the hse is stil under the previous owners' name, u can ask them 2 help u 2 sign on the reno form. tis is wat i wil b doing. the current owner is agreeable 2 it cos i wan 2 save some time. hope can squeeze in a little reno b4 cny long holidays. There is a risk though, if the seller backs out before completion, then all your reno will go to waste. HDB will not help you and you have to engage your own lawyers to fight the case while the contractor will still demand payment for work done.

ahwee 0 Report post Posted January 6, 2009 (edited) wow, ur reno is completed? when moving in? majority all done was quite surprised also when my contractor (actually is partner of the reno company) told me today that next week probably can finish. Inspected the things done, so far quality of the work's been up to mark so i dont foresee much problem also....finish early means i will have more time to slowly move things over my contractor recommended for my bedroom's platform to be below the height of the aircon trunking, and using side wall headboard to conceal the trunking and beautify.....one side of the recess wall's having tic tac door cabinet....two side quarter circle wooden platform on the recess wall for small tv and decorative items... full length wardrobe in my bedroom covering one side of the wall, which used to be the glass wall. suspended tv console with curved side aligned with the long sette. I was advised not to do feature wall to save money and the curved side of the tv console's also suggested by the contractor. ikea's mirror cabinet and accessories, installed with help of the workers Edited January 6, 2009 by ahwee
