Kesmond 0 Report post Posted December 8, 2008 Hi all, I want to DIY a simple TV Console for my living room... What i meant simple was really simple, get a plank of wood and then mount it on to the wall. I will be placing a 37" or 40" LCD TV, a mini hi-fi and a DVD Player... May i know what type of wood can i get in order to substain the weight of the 3 items? Found some plank wood that is selling at those HomeFix shops, can those woods be used? And how do i mount it on to the wall? Any guides that i can follow? Sorry abt it, but i want to save cost... thanks

Nyatoh is probably your best best for durability. You can use L-brackets from below only or get 2 short stumps for the front of the plank while the back is anchored by means of L-brackets. Ikea also has flush mount shelves that are cheap.
