applefreak 1 Report post Posted January 4, 2009 (edited) Hi applefreak, how long do we need to apply the sealant? Like every 3 months of 6 months interval? Hi applefreak, a bit blur with your statement leh. Is this silestone and quartz same product? Why is it that in future you'll go for quartz? Its very nice? hi jupiter, the sealant should be applied yearly or as and when you feel that the sealant is gone so far i've not done anything even though it's been more than a year just discovered that water was trapped under my acrylic chopping board for he whole of last week :furious: heng no water mark or any other mark silestone is just a brand of quartz countertop just like corian, LG are brands of solid surface quartz is as hardy as granite, with much more colours and designs to choose from no joint line coz it's a man-made material it's basically like combining the best of solid surface and granite countertops :dribble: Edited January 4, 2009 by applefreak

Jupiter Home 0 Report post Posted January 5, 2009 Think should be ok. My aunt's home also got oven fix this way, somemore she always bake cake, never heard her complain. Thanks dew, saw a lot of this in magazine & contractor also tell me some he did few years back also no complain. Just want to seek a second opinion here. Most likely will stick to this design. If you put oven there, that means it's facing the sink directly, don't know FS wise its ok or not. Oven produce heat, no fire, so can leh. Haha, that's my theory . Hi Jupiter, just chanced upon your t-blog. Hm, as for the layout of kitchen, I do have a suggestion but not sure if it is too late or if it is feasible but at least the sink and hob won't be facing each other. I was thinking of shifting your fridge to the right hand side of the kitchen and built a L-shaped cabinet for the left hand side with the sink back-to-back with your wash area. Not an great description but I hope u get my idea. Thanks Haven for the suggestion, the bases for the cabinet already done, so can't change layout liao. You mean when your contractor hand over the house to you, he got apply those sealant? Very clear explanantion on the quartz top, thanks. yes i believe my contractor applied the sealant on my granite countertop in fact, all self-respecting contractors (supplier) should apply the sealant being used as countertops, it's certain that the stone will be in contact with water all the time

zeegi 0 Report post Posted January 8, 2009 I think the wood design is more lasting and pleasing to the eye. Personally I feel that the red & black theme gives people the impression the design is from 2008 design trend

KPE 0 Report post Posted January 8, 2009 Some 3d pics to share. Hi Jupiter, I would advise you not to take the red colour. Let me tell you something. I've a friend always quarrel with his wife after they move into their new flat. One day he bring a FS master to his house, the FS master said that his red cabinet is not suitable for him and his wife. Reluctantly, he spend some more money to change it to white colour. After that his relationship with his wife also improved. Just to share with you.
