Qoo4life 0 Report post Posted December 3, 2008 Wah! The previous owner really liked colours!! *WELCOME* looking forward to more pictures! PIcked out an ID yet? The previous owner is Indian Muslim and they used a lot of dark colours. spam spam... nice layout! gonna do a major reno? Due to budget constraint, will be doing a minor reno like change of kitchen cabinets & wardrobe doors, painting etc and the major hacking will be the countertop at Master bathroom. Qoo4life 0 Report post Posted December 3, 2008 Would like to check if any of you guys have encounter buying a resale flat with ex-owner still holding to the letterbox key? About 2 weeks after actual handover, we were in the house with the shortlisted IDs and contractor to let them see the actual kitchen cabinet and wardrobes whether relaminated is workable. Out of a sudden, the ex-owner's wife came back with his son and was walking around with a videocam. My hubby and I was thinking "Huh, they just walk in like that". This trigger us to do an experiment. We saw a few letters for the ex-owner and we left it in the letterbox and will want to see if the letters will go 'missing'. We have been going over to the house almost everyday to check on the renovation progress and check on the letterbox. Today, we found out that all the letters for the ex-owner went missing!! So we are 100% sure that they still have the keys just that not sure if they have the house key too. Any advise on what can be done?

Even if you get your agent to deal with the situation, the owner might have many duplicated keys that you may not know. For me, I intend to change all my locks which also include main door and gate... Safer, well it's not coz I'm in bad relationship with ex-owners but I'm just taking precautions. Precautions are better than cures!
