vicenzo70 0 Report post Posted November 12, 2008 HI Guys, Recently heard and saw some ads about LG's Mark Levinson models - anyone happened to try it out? I wonder if its just about branding or it incorporates ML technology... Is it worth it? Only your ears can attest to it. No doubt, Mark Levinson is famously known for their high end audio equipments such as their amps & pre-amps. How LG got married with Levinson is a wonder. There's other better brands which I can think of that caters to the highly sound seeker perfecto, namely, Bowers & Wilkins (B&W), Lexicon, Denon, Krell etc etc Why dont u audition it & share with us your experience? Cheers

Cheers Seriously speaking, the brands you have mentioned are pretty expensive - probably for true blue audiophiles.. I have never heard of Mark Levinson, other than they supply Lexus cars with their sound system.. I always thought of LG as a 'Cheap' brand - so i wouldn't expect to pay a high price for their HT system. But if it is comparable to high end systems, then it might be real value for money.. I haven't got the time to go shopping - but if its worth the trip, I would probably 'test drive' it this weekend.. otherwise, I would rather spend my time sleeping! cheers! jonydebt 0 Report post Posted November 14, 2008 LG is improving and advancing more than just a "cheap" brand. My friends in KOREA also recommend LG than SAMSUNG. I have the HT953TV in my living room... For this price i don't think its cheap but yet not as expensive as the brands vincenzo70, call it middle range. As for quality of sound, i think its good enuff for my ears yet not breaking my full wall glass panel in my living room..LOL

B2B 0 Report post Posted November 14, 2008 Bro What's your budget for a HTS? Maybe i can help Cheers Think most HTS below $1K are considered "budget"... so maybe, I would think one that is between $1K and $2K is good value...
vicenzo70 0 Report post Posted November 17, 2008 Think most HTS below $1K are considered "budget"... so maybe, I would think one that is between $1K and $2K is good value... One could spend less than $1K for a good HTS by getting a 2nd hand amp with new speakers. Good & realiable 2nd hand amps could be procure from our local hi-fi websites like xtremeplace & hardwarezone. 5.1 speaker systems could be auditioned at hi-fi shops in Adelphi. PM me your budget, maybe i can help. cheers vince
