payretep 0 Report post Posted November 7, 2008 Anyway, here are some photos of our "premium" flat.. don't think its really that premium also.. Our small small window~ Our other window + kitchen with yellow tiles Very functional bomb shelter, strategically placed smack in the center of the house Our very first purchase to the house And finally, a feel of the living/dining area which is way too long.. That's all I have for now~

Have you completed your reno? Would love to go visit and take a look. Heee.. Yah, its quite rare to find country lovers here.. We like the country style cos we would like to have a cosy place to nua.. We are quite the nua-ers.. Yep, am in 678C, how abt you?
piggiedearz 0 Report post Posted November 7, 2008 yup. we moved in since may. ur ID has experience in country style? i'm in 677b
payretep 0 Report post Posted November 7, 2008 Nope, he say he have never done that before, but he is very willing to do research and try. Looking at his portfolio, I think it should be quite satisfactory. I have quite some ideas myself, just need him to gel it all together for me. Hahahaha
piggiedearz 0 Report post Posted November 7, 2008 i just gone thru his portfolio as well. looks not bad to me. he did an european style in anchorvale.. tink tats his only experience in this theme. hmm just to share my experience and whatever knowledge i have with u, no offense meant to u or ur ID: i realised tat for tat european hse, he didn do any built in furnitures, most of them are bought. so this doesn show his 'skills' in country theme. the only 'country' things he did are the sliding doors and roman frameworks n cornices (which i tink is quite common and easy) but to achive real country looking furnitures, in sg, not many can do it. i'm not sure what ideas u have in mind, maybe u wanna share with me , i can help to give some opinions duno if u get wad i mean.. hope u do .. hehe
payretep 0 Report post Posted November 7, 2008 None taken. Yah, he already told me that he never did country style before le, but I think should be fine lah. There is always the first time for everything, right? better than other ID firms trying to convince me to take up modern or contemporary designs by saying country style not really popular. Like we care which style is popular, we just want what we like! Anyway, the country style that we want is not really the very traditional one. We want something country, and yet clean cut (easy to maintain ). Don't think the full blown country look would suit us very well bah.. So we kinda looking at something like fusion between country and something else. Currently our ideas consists of the fireplace tv console, fabric sofas with flora prints, bed with wooden post, cabinets with either white or light wooden finishings. It's quite all around the place right now. Anyway, do you have any pics of ur tv console? am so curious to see how you go around doing it? Oh and btw, ur layout is which kind? Squarish or slanted like ours?
piggiedearz 0 Report post Posted November 7, 2008 glad that none taken cos i know that quite a few country lovers they went to wrong IDs and end up cant get what they really want and its such a waste cos i know how it feels when its ur new hse and u like this theme so much yet the outcome is wrong. and worst is they hv to stick with it as the ID will not redo for them one.. (and they cant do it too even if they redo.) not all IDs can do this style. need specialized carpenters etc. so i just wanna share with u la.. since u haven done anything yet.. hehe yup. i had problem when finding ID too, many tell me this is old fashioned, or hard to do. so i just dropped them. i will not settle for anything less as its my new home leh.. haha. mine also wan easy to maintain. fabric sofas is easy to find hehe. go picket n rail. ikea also hv if u're on budget but i find tat the cushion goes soft veri fast. if u like the sinking in sensation then u can get tat. i prefer my cushion to be firmer my layout is squarish. u just got ur hse this apr? i post the pic in another post. payretep 0 Report post Posted November 7, 2008 Yeah, got it at the apr ballot after much trying.. Yep, I understand about the right ID part. Somehow, he give me the right vibes lah. Anyway, we are still in the stage of discussion, although we are quite sure that he will be the right one for us, as we are not looking at other ID anymore. Should find one that can communicate well bah, that's our feeling. So ikea sofa will degrade fast huh? Was considering it cos its nice and cheap. Guess nice and good stuff don't come cheap huh? Can give me the link to the picture? or better still, do you have a t-blog?
piggiedearz 0 Report post Posted November 7, 2008 here's my fireplace console. my hall is french country theme. i don't have a t blog haha. posting photos to photobucket then posting here is tedious. i'm trying to do my own blog at blogger but haven got time to finish it haha. yup.. can communicate is gd. cant wait to see ur country home being done up when are u planning to move in? u like country style a lot? or just want a cozy home to nua?
