The renovation for my unit just started last week so I decided to post some images here to share ideas but most importantly, to update my wtb on the progress since she cant visit our new flat as frequent as me. Here is the layout of my flat.

TBS 0 Report post Posted November 4, 2008 There are flats with similar layout in pasir ris and boon lay. Actually, the balcony is an "internal balcony". Only the flat side is facing outside. Anyway, I will remove the doors and combine it with the living room. As for the kitchen, a half-wall will be constructed with a glass panel on top.
pinkpetter 0 Report post Posted November 4, 2008 Ohhh internal balcony! Got it. Hehhh paiseh i suaku never get to see your layout. But I like how the there's an L Shape to it. So the dining can be in that area without having to be divided from the living.. mmm nice nice Half wall with glass is a good idea! open and yet still divided. figo007 0 Report post Posted November 4, 2008 Nice layout TBS! Started to talk and shortlisted any ID at the moment? Hi, I was introduced to this forum by my wife to be about 1 mth ago. TBS 0 Report post Posted November 4, 2008 Nice layout TBS! Started to talk and shortlisted any ID at the moment? I already found a contractor to take care of all the renovation works. It was a recommendation from my friend. His workmanship is good and his price is much lower than ID. Initially, I spoke to a few IDs during an exhibition at expo but their quotes are in the 50K range (exc. hidden cost) which is way over my budget of 35K. Their ideas are also more or less the same. So I decide to be my own designer since I have great interest in space planning and interior design. Here is my proposed layout...
pinkpetter 0 Report post Posted November 4, 2008 NICE!! You're good at this! Ya liddat save more money. What is in the store ah?
TBS 0 Report post Posted November 4, 2008 NICE!! You're good at this! Ya liddat save more money. What is in the store ah? Oh! it's a rack for storing all my barang barang. You shd also try the "floorplanner" if you're not engaging an ID. The new version has a 3-D function which let u better visualise your ideas. Now my wtb and I are having a headache deciding on which brand to choose for our appliances especially hob & hood...must be cheap & good...haha
