ya, this is wat i'm thinkin,, kids will need money too.. actuali i hope to save money to prepare for kids, now still clearing reno loan, really don wish that debt after another.. but my mil n my mother wan to show off.. if i got money who don wan to hav a grand weddin.. jus trying to make my hubby and my life easy lo

assessing your current situation better not to have banquet.

I didn't plan for a banquet, am going for house-warming (buffet reception) plus customary at my new flat on 7 dec 2008. Like that can save quite alot. But of course lah, buffet must really sepnd on the most expensive and delicious food cos' no banquet mah, cannot be stingy on buffet already....

my mother-side's relative abt 70 pax already, if wanna banquet surely go broke!

anyway, house-warming can bring in good 'ren' qi and positive yang energy flow to your house

i told my hubby must hav at least 20k savings so tat we can hav a 10k standby for wedding and 10k for baby.. hope by then can let them feel that wedding dinner is not a must..

we been hopin that can hav a vehicle for when a kid arrived, is easily to travel.. jus drag as long as possible or if we can squeeze to save..

take baby steps 1st , for wedding just siam as long as you can ... esp if you done your ROM already.

Bridal shots - Can just take up photography package. Cost less then 2k.

AD dinner can just buy a simple dress from city plaza and call it a day. PG engage seperately. Mine was very westernised and i opted for this style, saved quite a bit without compromising the pictures. In fact i preferred finding my own PG then using studio's.

For dinner, frankly if lose right, onli a few thousand, usually won't go more then 5k so don't worry so much on how many tables.

Choosing who you invite also very important. Am sure you've read around to knwo what i mean.

There will never be a point in life where $ is sufficient. We just have to maximise what we have.

i got a book, write down my expenditure daily even to bus fare also write down.. it keep me remind myself how much i had spend..

went amk to buy my necessities weekly or evry 2 wk, cos they got the cheapest household items there, use the most cheapest shower :- hazeline snow, only 2.80 or 3 for 750ml.. as compare to pamolive which cost 4.80 and higher..

this is how i tightened my budget for these fews months..
