Layout Planning... Dining Table, Sofa & Shoe Cabinet

Recommended Posts

We have a hard time of fitting our dining table... anybody has good idea or suggestion?

The length of sofa and shoe cabinet also give us a hard time ...

We want to put sofa behind shoe cabinet, and shoe cabinet beside main door...

Hi Ylucy,

You have a good layout. :good: No funny or odd shaped bedrooms or living room.

You can place your shoe cabinet on the right side of the main door (against the bomb shelter). Do you have any feature wall for the TV? You can put your TV console against bedroom 3 wall. Sofa opposite the TV console and dining table in the middle of the dining area.

This is only some ideas I have for your layout.

It is in tPY. good location...

the only thing I don't like is the corridor unit for my flat... living room & room 3 facing corridor...

No feature wall for TV, was thinking painting a different color... What color is appropriate? The rest of the wall i will be painting in white shade...

The sofa & coffee table will occupy the whole living room. Shoe cabinet cannot lay beside bomb shelter, there is only about 10cm over there. Shoe cabinet will situated on the left side of the main door. As shown in the picture... was thinking to put dining table in kitchen, but a bit crowded there too... :(

Hi, do you have any theme in mind? Contemporary, resort style or ....

My ID told me white shade for walls are out. You might want to pick up the latest copy of ICI Dulux colour inspirations 2009 to get some inspirations.

Your shoe cabinet is rather long, you have many shoes? :D What's the lenght from the main door (when it's fully opened) to the end of the bomb shelter? Is the length long enough for a full height shoe cabinet? Cos I still think if you place the L-shape sofa behind the shoe cabinet, the living will look smaller. As I don't like to see shoes once I enter into the living room and I'm the kind of person who like to have more floor area.

I would put the table in the kitchen ba but a four seater and further down closer to the bomb shelter... then the fridge near the cabinets. mmmm I never like having the sofa next to shoe cabinet and my mom wun approve cos she has a sensitive nose... so I think my family will put the TV next to the shoe cabinet and the sofa against the wall instead. That way can see the people who walk in.

Yep.. agree with Pink Petter, sofa along the wall where the proposed TV console is, and TV console to be integrated wif shoe cabinet, ie.. shoe cabinet below facing door, TV on top facing sofa.

Rectangular dining table along wall opposite W.C 1. If got guests, can simply pull out to middle of hall.

Fridge better to be in corner next to HS. Proposed location will cast shadow and make the HS corner dark.

If really wanna be creative, me wld redo the W.C 2 corner wall nearest the HS, so that it is a 45 degree slant. Enter the toilet in a 45 degree angle. This allow the kitchen to have a wider entrance, and also shorter for Bedroom 2 to go toilet. Also makes the cross airflow better. Also make kitchen corner brighter.

Anyway.. think need to do something about the number of shoes u planning to have.

Thinking of modern style... not much built in to save $$...

The length from maindoor (when it's fully opened) to end of bomb shelter is about 1.2m. was thinking to put a hidden shoe full height cabinet, but is too narrow... and cabinet itself also takes space...

But then when come in, will see the sofa directly, seems no good in fengshui... initially thinking of puting crystal curtain on top of shoe cabinet and act as 玄关? not sure whether this is the correct term... just to hide things in the living room, so that cannot see the whole living room from main door directly...

but TV's back side to be face main door doesn't looks nice... and integrated to the built-in tv console may make the entrance looks crowded & blocked?

Anybody done in this way? any pictures?
