nesh 0 Report post Posted October 20, 2008 How does balloting work ? i truly understand its being drawn out by computer. but under what criteria do they choose ? etnic group ? first time applicant ? staying near parents ? salary range ? or under what capacity ? let me give u an example... current hdb sale of half yearly: 10000 applicants from there 8000 - chinese | 1500 - malays | 500 - indians/others = applicants from there how they split the group ? 8000 chinese -how many first timers ? how many staying near parents ? each individual etnic group they ballot according to this ? i was wandering for instance if a person who is trying for a flat for abt 10 yrs ,depending on luck for the queue no ,he wld never get a flat. if any good soul who knows the answer to this... pls kindly reply... HDB people said the computer does this job, technically, all applicants are in a pool, then the computer random select one of them, and then check its all criteria to ensure all ratios are still within a proper range, if this applicant pass all the criteria, then he is assigned with a queue number, otherwise, put him back to the pool.
