redskin 0 Report post Posted October 6, 2008 Hi I have reading alot of thread regarding LCD and Plasma TV. And most conclude that watching SD(standard Definition) program would have poorer PQ on LCD TV and Plasma would do better. However if I would to switch to 4:3 ratio mode on LCD TV (ie allowing black border on the left and right of the LCD screen) would I still suffer poor distorted images? - - - - - - - - -- - - - - - -- - - - - - - Cheap does not mean it is Good Good does not mean is Cheap Expensive does not mean it is good Good does not mean it is expensive

Though I was a LCD advocate before, but after owning both LCD & plasma, i'm convinced that plasma do a better job in contrast, color & realism. And if one has a good upscaler DVD player like OPPO, the pix quality superiority is more obvious on a plasma than on a LCD. Cheers

Does that really matters? or is it the color setting in the Plasma TV. Actually Im more fond to Plasma but after comparing Plasma and LCD with my own eye on dark color details now Im confuse a little over plasma or LCD.
applefreak 1 Report post Posted October 7, 2008 personally i'm a plasma person details wise plasma wins hands down i spent a few months wondering around all the major electrical shops watching the tvs there at 30min stretch think all the sales person know me liao ;p conclusion - the resolution will be best for the tv on promo, it's a setting thing i have no problem seeing details in dark scenes on my plasma i don't believe in specs i only believe in my own eyes go for the cheapest one that your eyes can accept
