Led Light

Recommended Posts

I am thinking of using LED spot light instead of normal halogen light to focus onto an area in a small room to create a cozy ambience. Wonder if this is possible?

If not, what other type of light bulb that I can use. Want to create a bit "focused" area with cozy warm light but dun want to use halogen bulb...

Hope someone can advice.

Thanks a lot!

Looking for good contractors? Click here for your request

I have been experimenting on this issue for quite some time and have yet to find the solution.

Firstly.. flourescent cannot get the same intensity as halogen. Can't create that focused beam effect, where the centre is brighter than the sides.

Secondly.... flourescent also dun have that yellow flame colour.

The closest I manage to achieve, is to use track lighting with a very narrow reflector holder, and to use a small CFL bulb that can fit the holder. Colour just isn't right.

LED need to use the 3W version, but is still very expensive. furthermore.. is not that flamed coloured yellow.

Until I find enlightenment, I wld say.. try using flourescent as much as possible, but to include 1 or 2 halo just to get the colour and intensity.

LED lamp does not come with warmwhite colour, their closest to warm are yellow or amber.

there are led lamp with different degee (narrow beam) in the market but the intensity are not better than using halogen light.

Warm white led lamp are available.

Beside warm white, they are available in Cool White and Neutral White.

There are better than halogen replacement LED in the market but none are available here. You can order from oversea at about $200 a piece.

IF you are a DIY person, I have LED drivers and LEDs in 3 different color tone. They are from the 290lumens variety which roughly equal the output of a 20W halogen lamp.

I can fabricate light housing in your design as well.
