xmac2006 0 Report post Posted October 1, 2008 Hi all! Got a 5-room resale at Canberra Road. We didn't take much care with the ID of our previous flat, so this time we decided to engage professional help. We were more careful this time, and after considering a number of IDs, we chose Linewerkz Pte Ltd 'cos they impressed us the most with their concept. The major areas we'll be doing up are:kitchen flooring and cabinetscommon and master bedroom toiletsliving room feature wallmaster bedroom (walk-in wardrobe, raised platform and partition) work-study &overlaying existing granite flooring with laminate flooring As of today, the hacking has already begun. Below is a photo of the unit as it was originally : and the unit as it appears today (from more or less the same direction): It may look like a war-zone now, but we're expecting the miracle to unfold before our eyes in the weeks to come. Follow us on our renovation adventure, and feel free to ask for more details!

xmac2006 0 Report post Posted October 2, 2008 (edited) Thanks for the warm welcome! The fascination to keep tabs on a major project as it unfolds is understandable. I admit I'm finding excuses to pop in while the work's being done just to see what's new. This was the kitchen when we first took it over: And this is what it looks like today, with the new workspace counter just starting to take shape: And the tiling work for the kitchen toilet has just begun. Most of the black stuff is plaster, but tiles have already gone on the far wall -- as you can see, the texture's much smoother. The tiles are quite dark, aren't they? It should be something like a 'black-box' effect when it's complete. Cool, huh? xmac2006 0 Report post Posted October 3, 2008 Notice that kitchen layout totally different from before, any 3d drawing to share? Hi sunset and sanji37 We'll ask our designer for the 3d drawings, 'cos we didn't think to keep a copy for ourselves. In the meantime, we'll keep posting pix to keep everyone updated as to our daily progress. First up, the framework for the false ceiling has gone up in the MBR ... and in the living room The L-box is up in the study The kitchen toilet walls have been fully tiled Going shopping for lights tomorrow... xmac2006 0 Report post Posted October 5, 2008 Mission accomplished for Saturday. Bought lighting from Pemier Lighting Centre in Geylang. Went for simple, clean-cut lines, white-and-glass colour themes. The one indulgence was for the dining room: 3 narrow drop lamps with some dangling crystal inside each cylinder. Had a hard time finding our sofa and dining room set, but eventually found what we were looking for at Morris Lifestyle located around Admiralty. They're a wholesaler for home furnishings, apparently supplying furniture stores in Furniture Mall, etc., so we're getting our purchases at wholesale prices... and they're having a warehouse sale now. Expecting delivery in early November.
xmac2006 0 Report post Posted October 5, 2008 (edited) Not so much happening on the weekend, but at least the MBR toilet walls are getting their tiling done: Otherwise, these are some other shots I've been taking: MBR bathroom tiles all lined up and ready to be installed: Our best view: Some of the tools decorating our floor at the moment (it's a slow news day): I just found out that heat expansion also affects laminate flooring. xmac2006 0 Report post Posted October 7, 2008 Beginning the third week of renovations. Most of the tiling work has been done already with the common bathroom already complete: While the kitchen floor tiles are done and currently being set: One more surface left to be tiled, the MBR bathroom, floor still composed of liquid concrete: And right on schedule, the false ceiling is coming together. Can't see the supporting framework any more: Hopefully, we'll get our hands on the 3-d designs the next day or so. There were some small changes...
